    Re: All 2430!!!

#26 -- Royals (0-1) @ White Sox (1-0) -- Nice performance from the Royals, this one was not really ever in doubt. I may have settled in on a good custom camera, no more trying to track pitches that travel several feet left-to-right on my display.

#27 -- Pirates (1-0) @ Rays (0-1) -- If you watch the first inning, you may think I'm not half-bad at the game. If you watch the rest of the game, you might think I should find a new game to play. Also, yes the game was at the Trop. It has occured to me that I might be cheating myself out of taters by playing at retro parks, and that I cannot abide!

2-0 Red sox @ 0-2 Blue Jays and the 1-0 Nationals @ 0-1 Mets scheduled for 1:45-ish this afternoon. Play ball!

      #28 -- Boston 1-7-0 (2-1) @ TORONTO 2-5-0 (1-2) -- still screwing around with camera angles. I think camera-itis is better than slider-itis?

#29 WASHINGTON 1-5-0 (2-0) @ New York N 0-1-1 (0-2) -- real low point so far. Confidence at the plate a bit low perhaps? It really just takes one game to get back in the groove, hopefully tonight's games will get me going again.

#30 -- Yankees 2-6-0 (1-1) @ Orioles 3-12-0 (1-1) -- 11 inning affair. The O's tied it up in the bottom of the ninth with a clutch 2-out double. Mets are the only team without a run now.

#31 -- Twins 1-2-1 (3-0) @ Athletics 0-4-0 (0-3) -- Honestly, I didn't think my batting was too bad. Lots of soft contact, the RNG spirits weren't with me in this one.

        2399 to go!

#32 -- Phillies 4-7-1 (2-1) @ Marlins 3-12-0 (1-2) 11 innings -- Might need to tweak the power up a notch, my taters per game is low. I think 50 games will be a reasonable amount of games to assess the sliders.

          #33 -- Cubs 0-3-1 (0-2) @ Brewers 2-3-1 (2-0) -- EVERYBODY SHUT UP FOR A SECOND, I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!

(hangs head) I may have been wrong to use pure analog. (gasps, clutching-of-pearls, etc.)
After flailing for 4+ innings, I switched to zone hitting. Let me tell you, what a difference it made! My swings-and-misses went WAY down, and while only two runs were scored I was making way more contact, and way more hard contact. Turns out pure analog may have been costing me a lot of action.

Hopefully the offense will perk up a bit now!

#34 -- Braves 4-9-0 (3-0) @ D-backs 3-10-0 (0-3) -- Bravos one win away from a season-opening 4 game sweep on the road. Everytime Arizona takes a lead or ties it, Atlanta immediately scores.

#35 -- Angels 7-12-1 (2-1) @ Astros 1-8-0 (1-2) -- Yep, zone hitting is where it is at. Strikeouts actually make sense now, as I either (a) completely mistimed the swing or (b) locked in on the wrong side of the plate with 2 strikes. Game feels so much better now. Phew!

Rockies @ Padres and Rangers @ Mariners double header tonight!

            (everyone stay safe out there!)

Zone hitting is where it’s at. I’m 35 games in on my AL only season. I’m playing as only the home team and I’m 21-14 and it’s a lot of fun.

#36 -- Rockies 6-9-1 (2-1) @ Padres 5-11-1 (1-2) -- Rockies took a 5-0 lead, Padres tied it at 5 late, Rocks managed to push the winning run across in the top of the 9th.

#37 -- Rangers 0-2-2 (1-2) @ Mariners 4-4-0 (2-1) -- M's scored 3 from 2 taters in the second, Urban took care of the rest, throwing 7.2 scoreless. Well pitched game, lots of corners hit, used the entire strike zone.

Gonna take a step back today and try to belatedly assemble spreadsheets or use ballstat to track stats for my league, games might be light for a day or two.

The rest of you, play ball!

Best of luck to you! I set goal ever year to start/finish a single season with a team, playing every single game hitting and batting, and I’ve never even done that!

#38 -- Giants 1-3-1 (1-2) @ Dodgers 5-4-0 (2-1) -- Meager 1-1 score going into the bottom of the 9th. LA loaded the bases up for SS Joseph Buscher and he un-loaded them for the walk-off grand salami!

                    --END OF DAY 3--

#39 -- Yankees 4-6-0 (2-1) @ Orioles 3-5-0 (1-2) -- Don't recall that much from this game honestly. It's what I get for playing a game early morning before work.

                    #40 -- Phillies 6-11-0 (3-1) @ Marlins 5-10-0 (1-3), 10 innings -- Mercifully only 10 innings after these two just played 13 the day before. Colt Snow was lights-out, 4-5, 2 doubles, 1 homer and 3 steaks.

#41 -- Pirates 5-5-2 (1-2) @ Rays 8-13-0 (2-1) -- Pittsburgh jumped out with 5 runs in the first, but Tampa scored 8 unanswered the rest of the way. Baseball is a funny game.

#42 -- Nationals 3-12-1 (2-1) @ Mets 4-9-0 (1-2) -- Mets blew the save in the 9th, but came back with a walk-out tater by anderson in the 10th. Mets finally on the board!

                      #43 -- Red Sox 8-11-0 (3-1) @ Blue Jays 2-7-1 (1-3) -- Boston really pushed the Jays around in the 4-game set.

#44 -- Cardinals 2-8-0 (1-2) @ Reds 3-3-0 (2-1) -- Not a lot of hits in this one, but the teams combined for an unbelievable 16 walks! All of Cincy's runs came courtesy of a 3-run bomb by Starks.

#45 -- Detroit 4-11-0 (2-1) @ Cleveland 7-14-0 (1-2) -- Detroit was smelling a sweep going up 4-0 in the 4th, but the Clevelander bats perked up and hit the Tiger bullpen hard.

#46 -- Angels 8-3-0 (3-1) @ Astros 3-6-0 (1-3) -- Could just be a rough start, but Houston's pitching is on notice, giving up a total of 28 runs in the opening series.

                          #47 -- Royals 3-8-1 (1-2) @ White Sox 8-12-0 (2-1) -- Royals couldn't spoil the Sox home-opening series.

#48 -- Braves 3-7-0 (4-0) @ D-Backs 0-3-0 (0-4) -- First sweep of the season goes to the Braves. Atlanta won all for but only out-scored Arizona by 6!

                          #49 -- Rangers 0-4-1 (1-3) @ Mariners 4-7-0 (3-1) -- The M's went 0-9 in their first 9 plate appearances, but then scored 4 in the 4th. Go figure.

                            #50 -- Rockies 3-8-2 (2-2) @ Padres 6-7-3 (2-2) -- Sloppy performance by both teams, Colorado's 3 unearned runs were the deciding factor.

#51 -- Twins 5-8-0 (4-0) @ Athletics 4-9-0 (0-4), 11 innings -- Try as they might, the A's couldn't earn 1 win in four tries against the Twins. Meyer chalked up save #2 in the 11th.

#52 -- Cubs 4-10-0 (1-2) @ Brewers 2-8-0 (2-1) -- This game wasn't quite as close as it looked, I cost the Cubbies at least two more runs due to some really poor baserunning.

And every team has played their first series! I'll post a power ranking every #100 games or so. 2377 to go!

#53 -- Royals 1-5-0 (2-2) @ Tigers 0-6-1 (2-2) -- Hat-tip to the pitchers, they kept me flailing at the plate all game long. The lone run was a cheap 340 foot tater into the right field camera well.

                              #54 -- Pirates 5-11-0 (1-3) @ Cubs 7-14-1 (2-2) -- Wind was blowing out at Wrigley. 'Nuff said.

#55 -- White Sox 2-6-1 (2-2) @ Indians 3-4-1 (2-2) -- Bautista walked it off in the bottom of the ninth with a clutch 2-out single.

#56 -- Nationals 4-10-0 (3-1) @ Marlins 2-12-1 (1-4) -- Marlins continue to struggle at home, and now I'm wondering if I'm trying to do too much at the plate with the fish.

#57 -- Red Sox 3-15-0 (4-1) @ Orioles 2-9-0 (1-3), 10 innings -- It's Chuck Ross' world, we're just living in it. His solo tot in the 10th gives him a .500/.591/1.056 triple slash with 3 homers and 8 RBIs.

#59 -- Reds 7-12-0 (3-1) @ Blue Jays 1-7-1 (1-4), 11 innings -- Reds exploded for 6 in the 11th. For the life of me, don't understand why I can't score like that every inning.

                                #60 -- Yankees 5-12-0 (3-1) @ Rays 2-9-1 (2-2) -- New York's Lion is still batting over .500 (.529 to be exact)

                                #61 -- Cardinals 3-6-1 (1-3) @ Brewers 4-8-0 (3-1) -- Heartbreaker for the Cards, lost a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth.
