So a quick update on my fantasy draft team:

Just reached the beginning of September and while I am 77-51, I am 6 games back in the division. Luckily I have a playoff spot nearly locked up as I am well ahead in the WC race.

Only made two small deals at the deadline. Traded my backup C Bobby Perkins to the Twins who needed a starter for a B potential SP prospect. Then made a minor league depth trade swapping a SP for a catcher.

Having a lot of fun with this team, especially after discovering one of my top prospects is a two way player. He isn’t pitching well but hitting in the high .270s with 7 HR and 23 RBI in 110 ABs.

I should probably put mine here since my franchise has a large infusion of fake players. Only my team though, rest are on the free agents list for teams to sign if they wish. Anyway, I started one with the Pirates and kept Josh Bell, Jameson Taillon, Mitch Keller, Adam Frazier, Kevin Newman, Cole Tucker, and Bryan Reynolds. I traded or released everyone else and signed several fake players to fill out my roster. I did manage to trade for Austin Riley and Lane Thomas. Other than those 9 players the rest of my team has no current MLB experience. I did trade for a few good prospects like Jazz Chisholm, Corey Ray, and Hunter Greene. A few of the fake players are friends and family and myself. The rest are just fake guys I pulled off of free agents and imported into my roster from a mixer of different rosters from 19 and 20. Anyway, my team is pretty pretty awful right now with only 5 players rated over 80 and only a handful after that over 75. My pitching staff is where it shows up the most, especially bullpen where I don't have but 1 guy above 70. Rest are in the 60s.

Our Ken Rosenthal has some minor news out of Cubs camp today, Ken....

Thanks Greg, The Chicago Cubs signed veteran first baseman Derek Quisenberry to a 1 year deal reportedly worth $580k. When asked why, Cubs GM Cal Varson said " We didn't have a quality backup first baseman on the roster, we didn't think anyone from AAA Iowa was ready for the jump. We like what he brings to the clubhouse, he's a veteran presence and can really help some of our younger guys along the way."

To make room on the roster the Cubs optioned little used OF David Maloney to AAA Iowa where he can get some regular at bats. The Cubs also announced they have released OF August Grace.

Just finished the first season of the Atlantis Aliens with a WC berth. Will be hosting the Houston Astros in that game with the winner on to face the Rays.

Unfortunately in the second to last week of the season, I lost Colby Relaford to a torn ACL. He was 2nd in the MVP race at the time and had 33 HR and 98 RBI. The playoffs will be a struggle without his bat in the lineup.

The Padres were in desperate need of another quality arm and San Diego hopes Rockwell can fill that void. The team is hoping that bringing in a veteran of such quality will ease pressure on a bullpen that has been responsible for many of the teams early victories. Meanwhile San Diego management also think that strong pitching performances will lead to better performance from the struggling offense. With the addition of Rockwell Joel O'Malley (25.1 IP, 2 losses, 8.53 ERA from 5 games) looks the most likely candidate to be sent down to the Triple-A club.

Rockwell didn't participate in spring training and will get some reps in with the minor league team before he makes his return to the MLB. While not a long term solution the addition the veteran arm looks like a solid move for the organizations short term plans.

Finally started mine! Planning on playing with each of the teams and just seeing how the season progresses.

My first game was with the Indiana Spartans @ the Nashville Blues. Won 3-0. They got the tying run to the plate in the 9th and he got a hit but I threw out the runner from right to end the game. It was a blast!

St.Louis Cardinals(6-7) @ Chicago Cubs(11-2)

Game 1:

Kirby Pace(2-0 3.11) got his second win of the season as the streak continues! Brandon Bowers hit his 7th HR of the season, and had 2 RBI(23) as the Cubs cruised to their 10th in a row! T.J Quinn(0-2 5.78) took the loss for the Cardinals. Cubs win 7-1

Game 2:

Tyler Reynolds(3-0 2.75) would keep the streak alive and pick up his 3rd win of the young season! New Cub Derek Quisenberry belted his first HR of the year! Mike Anderson(0-2 12.46) took the loss. Cubs Win 6-1, 11 in a row!

Game 3:

2 aces faced off in game 3 of the series, The Cardinals Marty Stark(2-0 1.17 33k's) took the mound against the Cubs Edwin Rodriguez (3-1 1.15 38k's). The Cardinals would strike in the first when Andrew Norris hit a 2 run HR(2) off of Rodriguez. Stark would keep the Cubs bats quiet until the 7th. The Cubs pushed across 2 runs in what should have been a big inning, but they came up short and left the bases loaded. Hector Lopez got the save(6) for St.Louis as they ended the Cubs streak at 11. Cubs lose 3-2

I had to share this.

Last night, playing my Twins Year 1 at Oakland, The A’s LF Bradley Williams hit an absolute tank off of Francisco Veras. SO what does he do? He starts doing a HR trot dance....totally showing up Veras.

I plunked him his next two AB’s and that SOB punk *** now has a target on his back the rest of the season. LOL.

I love this roster.

So I'm gettin in on this now. Took the O's and doin a fantasy drafted franchise with 30 Team Control.
I ended up with the 3rd overall pick (not bad, but not where I like to pick having to wait so long for my next pick, but lets see...)
Snagged Ethan Kintzler SP at #3
Clinton Lake CF at Pick 28 in round 2
Jorge Veras SS at pick 3 round 3
Angelo Love CP pick 28 round 4
TJ Mercer C at pick 3 round 5

Felt 5 picks was good enough then rolled the rest in simulate.

MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread

Played the WC game, Astros at my Aliens. Was one of the craziest games I’ve ever played.

Was a 0-0 game until the 8th inning when Dallas Shackleford knocked in Marshall Reed on an RBI single. Unfortunately, a solo HR in the top of the 9th with two outs tied the game back up.

The game continued into extras with Houston tacking on two runs and the Aliens matching them. This was until the 15th inning when Houston scored 4 runs including a two run HR by Paul Keys. Going into the bottom of the inning, a single and back to back doubles cut it down to 7-5 and then Hack Stephenson ties it with a two run HR.

The game stayed tied till the bottom of the 19th when Elijah Weeks comes through with an RBI double to win the game 8-7. My 5th starter Corey Lankford came through with 4 scoreless innings and the win in relief.
