Anyone else seeing this? In my current game, I have 3 throwing errors in the first 5 innings. Never had this problem in the past.

Throwing Errors
I have played about 5 full games so far, and I am seeing a ton of throwing errors on my part. I use analog throwing and have my throwing errors set to 4 in my slider set.

Re: Throwing Errors
When I first started playing I tried Button Accuracy with the new meter and was seeing throwing errors happen at a bothersome rate, but I have since went back to my preferred method (Buttons w/meter) and have only seen one throwing error in the last 3 games.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I use analog too. Yes I do see more throwing errors. Some games have a lot more than others.

It comes with a learning curve it's a great feature and new balance.
My first game I had 4 errors than the next game I had 3.. but my last 3 I've only combined for 1 total.
I like the extra focus that's needed

Analog throwing relies on the players rating, so all you have to do is throw to the base yo want to.Sent from my SM-T810 using Operation Sports mobile appIt comes with a learning curve it's a great feature and new balance.

No, you get the benefit of having a larger margin of error for better fielders, as in a larger slice of the wedge.
If you are throwing to first, and that perfect throw to first base would be 3 o’clock, you get a larger error wedge, the better the fielder.
But, you still have to get the input within the wedge, or you risk a bad throw.
Just pushing wherever you want towards three o’clock does not ensure your highly-rated infielder makes a perfect throw.

When the throwing meter is off, it based on the fielder skill. It says that in the game.

Ahhh.. I am playing either On or No feedback. Those require an accurate input as well as tying in the ratings.

Re: Throwing Errors
Ok, so its based on the position of your stick. The better you have it positioned to first or whatever base the better the throw will be. It's does not depend how long or short you hold it with feedback off. That makes sense.Sent from my SM-T810 using Operation Sports mobile appAhhh.. I am playing either On or No feedback. Re: Throwing Errors
Re: Throwing Errors
I'm playing with pure analog and the meter off. In 16 games I have made 23 errors. Only one was a fielding error, the rest were throwing errors. Most errors are committed at shortstop throwing to first drawing the first baseman offline. These are both on bang bang plays and basic grounders. My shortstop made two errors throwing to second, both throws going over the 2nd baseman's head.
The third baseman also commits throwing errors to first but at less of a frequency. I have played games with different players, different ratings, throwing error at 0 and the errors persist. My pitchers have made throwing errors to first on dribblers back to the mound.
Also, on ground balls through the hole and the outfielder has to throw it in to either the cutoff man or to 2nd base, most of those throws are offline.
Any throw from any outfielder who attempts to throw out a runner at the plate, all and I mean all the throws are offline. Who the fielder is does not matter. It is frustrating. I've tried buttons with meter on but I don't like the feel of the buttons and the meter is a bit fast for my liking. Other than that, I love most other aspects of the game.Last edited by belltower; 03-19-2020, 12:10 AM.Comment

Re: Throwing Errors
Yep, analog throwing is broken. It doesn’t matter if you turn throwing errors all the way down, you still see at least 3 throws that pull the 1st baseman off the bag every game. Has anyone tried buttons without meter to see if it’s better? Help us Ramon!Comment

Re: Throwing Errors
Re: Throwing Errors
I’ve been playing this game since PlayStation 2 and I’ve never seen as many errors as i have this year. I play with analog on and no HUD and have been for as long as they have put it into the game.
@Belltower - I’m with you... majority of my errors are at Shortstop where his throws are pulling the 1B off of the bag. I’ve tried to replicate certain behaviors in the field with the left stick that could potentially prompt a throwing error but it all seems so random. I’ve also had guys standing still and with a flick of the right stick make throwing errors as well.
There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to the errors and they seemingly are happening to frequently - I had 5 errors in my last game (all throwing).Comment

Re: Throwing Errors
I use AF and ratings based throwing. Errors are definitely up this year. I have slider down to 1 and still seeing fair number of errors. Don't want SDS to remove them as there are some real organic ones but they might need to adjust the sensitivity of this slider. BTW..CPU is committing realistic errors.Comment

Re: Throwing Errors
Re: Throwing Errors
The recent patch notes 1.05 stated:
Button Accuracy with Throw Meter turned OFF was resulting in too many perfect throws. This has been fixed and adjusted for balance.
But that is the complete opposite of what we have been seeing. Has anyone tried it after the patch to see if throwing with meter off is improved whether you are using buttons or analog?
I am also surprised more people aren't posting about this. I know most people probably use the meter but still I would think there would be a good number of people who turn the meter off for throwing.Comment
