Importing Franchise from 18' to 20'?
Hey guys, I plan on upgrading from The Show 18' to 20' this season and was wondering if you can import a franchise from 18' straight to 20?' I'm about 4 seasons into my 18' franchise and would prefer to not have to purchase The Show 19 just to convert my save file to the latest version. -

cant skip a year, what about rent instead of purchase 19? also, I think you'll have to play at least some of your carry-over on 19. maybe someone else can chime in on just how muchOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

You can't skip a year as Caufield stated.
Buy a used copy from Gamestop, transfer everything, then return it.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Importing Franchise from 18' to 20'?
Piggybacking on this instead of starting a new thread: I have an 18 franchise that’s currently in June of 2018. I was able to successfully import it into 19, but when I try to import into 20 it says that I need to advance the calendar year at least 1 year from the previous release. Would I have to sim all the way to 2020 for it to be playable in 20? Seems strange that it imported just fine into 19 with no simming. Is there a workaround? I made quite a few edits to the roster within the franchise so would there at least be a way to export the roster from the franchise and then load it into 20? I’d almost rather do that and start over instead of simming if possible. Thanks for any and all help.Last edited by jeffy777; 04-20-2020, 04:04 PM.Comment

MLB 20 is expecting a certain save format, and since you carried over from 18 mid-season, 19 hasn't had a chance to do that yet.
The info hasn't been put front and center, but the devs have stated a few times that the only way to ensure year to year compatibility is to play at least one season on every iteration.
Doesn't mean you always have to, but that's the official guideline.

So an iteration can't upgrade certain aspects of a save until the off-season.
