Are there others we should edit before going into Franchise?

According to wikipedia, other than the three you mentioned it says that other major league teams have begun to try out some of their prospects as two-way players, including Anthony Gose, Brett Eibner and Trey Ball.

Really? Lol man you can write a book about SDS trying to properly implement this feature. Hopefully we get to the final chapter in the next patch.

I doubt it'll get fixed as it's hard coded in the game. That said, according to the rules once they meet the requirement they can be a 2 way, and according to the real rules, unless they have the requirements in the previous season. Going off of that, for people starting new franchises, there is no previous season. So we need someone with a carry over franchise that had a 2 way player last year to see if they are automatically a 2 way player when the new season starts.

This is been the most confusing thing to figure out in MLB The Show. Nightmare..

I’ve been trying so hard just to get the two way player icon next to my players name and it’s been literally impossible

I’ve given my player over 20 starts at a position, he has over 60 IP & 12 Starts (as pitcher) and I still cannot get the option to make him two-way.

Really don’t understand why we aren’t given the option to make them two-way in create a player.

Really would like to know what I’m doing wrong here.

Not sure about the game, but these are the real life rules for the 2020 season.

            • In order to appear as a pitcher without counting toward a club’s pitcher limit, a player must accrue both at least 20 Major League innings pitched AND at least 20 games started (as either a position player or designated hitter) with at least three plate appearances in each of those games, in either the current season or previous season.
            • Position players must be designated as a “two-way player” in advance of a game in which they pitch. Once that designation is put in place, it remains in effect -- and cannot change -- for the remainder of the season and postseason.
            • The only way a position player not designated as a “two-way player” can pitch in a game is if his team is winning or losing by seven or more runs OR if the game goes to extra innings.

It's not an option; it just happens once they reach the benchmarks. Is the pitcher you're working with an Allstar or top prospect? The icon appears in the same spot so it may be overrode. Backup your save and simulate your season to see if it appears by the end of the year. If it does then maybe you just have to wait for it. I'm sorry that it's not working for you but I have about 20 2 way guys across the league in my franchise so I assure you it works haha.

I finally figured it out . I had the 20 starts in the field but not enough plate appearances.

                Thank you for clarifying

Issue I am having trying to create 2-way guy is Stamina bar. Because a pitcher the Stamina goes down very fast as hitter and then when after pitching takes 4 days to go back up. Almost impossible to have 2 way player playing 4 days a week. I have durability and stamina at 99 as well

Is your player an SP or RP?

Does anyone know if the hitting stats for pitchers that have 2 way abilities will progress, or just regress?

Looked through the thread and read the real MLB rules but still not sure so...
                          • Do players retain 2 way status indefinitely once they hit the requirements
                          • Do the innings pitched and outfield/plate appearances requirements have to occur in the same season.

can you edit the position once you get two way status? I don't want Cronenworth listed as a pitcher, he's clearly our every day 2B and probably won't pitch at all for us.

No, from what I've seen the primary position can't be changed from pitcher to position player and vice versa. Only secondary position can be changed.

Yeah it’s the same with Ohtani. I’m at the point where I just want him as a position player/full time DH cause pitching obviously hasn’t worked out for him the past couple years.

But unfortunately you’re not able to change pitchers to position players or vice versa as the primary, you can as secondary though but that does nothing. That part is a bit frustrating. I’ve had players turn into pitcher or the other way around and I gotta create a new player to fit his position in the past. Pain in the butt!
