I concur with everything said here. But what I would love, and if added it would have to be to every game mode, is to see John Smoltz as the color commentator.

1. More roster spots. I don't need more playable leagues I just need it so every team isn't flirting with roster limits all the time.

2. Revamped progression/regression. Especially regression. It is really, really bad in this game. Also move progression/regression to the off season and maybe make it a little more involved.

3. Ability to add custom uniforms without deleting previous uniforms or "rebranding" using existing team assets (logos, colours, lettering, ETC) as resources.

I have more, but those would be my top three adds.

I want a franchise mode with a real owner mode aspect to it like the old Madden 2005. But I also want a lot of the aspects of the NHL franchise mode. You can trade draft picks 7 years into the future. The scouting system is massive, you can hire like 20 scouts and scout tons of players.

Fixing number 1 would very nearly take care of number 2 as well. Progression/regression isn't bad with a good roster. But most rosters try to jam in too many prospects into those 90 spots. You HAVE to have minor league fodder guys or franchise doesn't work right.

Make A ball a full 25 man roster (so you have the top three levels reflective of "Real life". Then add another 20 "Low Minors" slots where people can get silly and add 18 yr olds from the DR that no one has ever heard of (but that some "expert" says will be "amazing"...and of which 99% of whom will never pan out). Right now, too many of these kids are being added to the in-game 90 man by custom roster makers...and it just won't work well.

Pretty much everything everyone was saying plus the following:

Editable draft classes
Rain outs with scheduled double headers leading to some fun management choices
Real minor league stadiums. (could start with 10 and expand each year)
Generic stadiums (assuming a stadium creator isn't possible) for relocation of teams. You could even create some generic ones for specific cities that would even include some skylines from said cities.
Promotion days at the ball park (hat day, bobble heads, $1 hot dogs, etc.) This can help drive crowds to off days.
Full Single A teams. (MVP had them back in the day.)

I would love if they basically ripped off NBA 2K. I'd love the option to choose being the GM or owner of a team, starting the off-season at the end of the previous season, voting on rule changes, etc. Of course better AI logic with everything as far as signings, trades and waivers. Hopefully this year they can at least patch in alternate/batting practice jerseys for custom teams and let us rebrand teams with whatever in game uniforms are available. Oh and create a stadium! Or at least give us generic stadiums or remove team branding for current ball ballparks for the use of relocation.

CLASSIC FRANCHISE

1. All the freedoms that Roster offers.

2. Jersey numbers like the Pet Rock you tell it to stay and it stays forever.

3. Ability to adjust lifetime stats on all
players.

4. Text to speech synthesizers. The technology is there you type in a name any name and the audio will come out loud and clear.

5. Baggy uniforms with sleeves you can adjust with a slider pant legs adjustable by slider.

6. Create a stadium with text to speech synthesizer added for introduction and reference to that Stadium. Freedom to share on the vault

7. Create a manager and coach names included.

8. Real life activity outside of Stadium people walking around kids chasing after a home run ball cars traffic people honking. People watching the game from their balcony reacting to the game.

9. Before each game pick a decade let's say the 50s the fans will show up dressed in 50s style clothes and hats.

10. Ability to download any logo from the internet to create a uniform and also open up the left sleeve for any logo Plus the cut sleeves need be higher. The ability to share uniforms along with logos on the vault.

11. Have real post-game interviews with player of the game. I have more but that's enough for now

I never thought of most of those things. I’m not sure what I mean when I say features actually . But what’s been said are features I guess.

I agree about the AI logic. What makes the AI auto fix roster the way it does in 40 man, line up etc? Sometimes it does such stupid choices.

I’d like everything to be able to edit for players especially age. Why are some legends 35 ? Sheesh. This isn’t necessarily for franchise but it basically is.

I said that franchise hasn’t really been messed with for so long because I wasn’t aware of little things or I should say behind the scenes like contracts etc. I forgot. Sorry.

franchise is just really dead.

Pick stadium as home stadium instead of having to manually pick each game. This isn’t the same as relocate I think. As relocate has a lot more involved.

I just feel let down so much that things I really like aren’t in the game. But I do enjoy The Show very much overall.

In a perfect world, I would love for them to merge or partner with OOTP and let them handle Franchise mode. They've done so much more with a fraction of the team SDS has.

Thats not gonna happen so at this point, I just want SDS to acknowledge the mode. For the love of god, stop shoving March to October down our throats. They need to add something substantial to franchise mode. How many years of dev time were wasted on streamlining it?

My personal wishlist:

Franchise News: Dynamically generating news, power rankings, and mock drafts.

Full Relocation + Create a Ballpark: I'd be ok with choosing from varying ballpark templates, as long as dimensions are fully editable. Make alternate uniforms a thing along with mismatching uniform items.

More Customization, Ability to edit almost anything: coaches, draft classes, MLB service time, minor league options used, etc. If you aren't going to fix your game, let us.

Other Things:

• International Free Agent Signing + Remove international players from the draft.

• More Sliders: Trade Difficulty slider, Contract Negotiation Difficulty slider, etc.

• Deeper training system.

• Deeper scouting system.

• Deeper GM Contracts + Owner Expectations.

ShadyFan has a good list and most people have hit the key points for me.

One thing I don't see mentioned is the morale system in franchise mode. This has been a debacle of a feature since it was included and has been left forgotten.

I'll tell you what I want... I want to play. I'm not trying to complain but every year you have to end up waiting for issues to be fixed and if you wanna do it right you have to wait for a good roster set to come out. Why can't things just be good to go out of the box for once?
