    Too Many Foul Balls

I'm hitting way too many foul balls and also swinging and missing at what should be easy pitches. I even have the Foul Sliders on 0. What gives?

If you are looking for MLB-type stats.....an avg. of 54 foul balls happen per game IRL. How many fouls are you seeing per game?

Quite a bit. And that's with the foul sliders on 0.

I agree. There have been too many foul balls for a couple years since the developers acquiesced to a demand for the ball to curve foul down the lines.

Seeing high pitch counts in manage mode.

Hitting is very polished this year, and I haven't heard anyone else bring this up, so I would maybe try switching your hitting view and working on your timing/pitch recognition. I prefer strike zone 3 because I like to see the players batting stance but I def hit better on strike zone 2.

I'm using MLB 16 The Show view as I've always used that and am more comfortable with it but I'll try Strike Zone 2 or 3 and see if that helps.

I chose All Star Hitting difficulty, lowered hitting and pitching sliders and I'm lucky if I get 3 ground outs. Also too many opposite field hits, too many foul balls.

does the Solid Hits Slider affect foulballs?

I raised up Solid Hits and read from people on here that lowering Contact makes for "SOME" ground balls. I'll play it later and see if raising Solid Hits up makes a difference on numerous foul balls.

Raising solid hits is going to increase line drives and hard hit balls. I don't think its going to help with your issue

My advice....just from all your threads...

Stop tweaking sliders. Go back to default All Star and lower the pitch speed sliders one tick each (I say that based on your opposite field hits comment).

Then, get a healthy sample size (80 games or so).

You're just going to keep spinning your wheels otherwise.

I have hitting on All Star. I'll try your suggestion of leaving everything on 5 default and lowering pitch speeds and hope I hit more grounders/cpu hits grounders and less foul balls and missed swings.

Before someone rushes to change the foul ball sliders, be honest. Are you swinging too early or too late? If the vast majority of your swings are on time, only then should you be concentrating on the slider foul ball settings. But if you do want to adjust sliders, also look at the swing timing slider. Moving it to the right will reduce foul balls because the game will tolerant you mal-timed swings better. But once again, early or late swings will result in higher frequency of foul balls.

I'm getting somewhat better. Still foul balls, not as many this time. 9 groundouts in the game including a double play plus 1 throwing error as the first baseman was off the bag.

I have noticed this too. Now, before anyone says anything I've been playing the show for the last decade. I'm pretty in tuned with my difficulty. I see it more so from the CPU. Their at bats sometimes last forever because they just foul everything off. Sometimes I'll throw one waaaaay outside just to see if they'll chase it and foul it and sure enough.
