Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
I’m 4 games into my season. First game 0 HRs from either team. I thought that this was going to be the most fun it has been in many years. Having to grind out at bats to score runs. The 3 games since, nothing but HR derby games. I’ve hit 12 HRs in the last 3 games, my opponents, I have lost count. I’ve had zero runs scored for or against me that wasn’t by way of the HR since game one. What’s the worst part about this? It’s that the next patch they’ll tinker with gameplay some more and then it’ll be next to impossible to get the ball out of the park. The game played almost perfect before they started releasing patches. Just like every year they tinker with it until it’s unplayable. Sad to say that I’m about done with the game this year. HR after HR after HR just isn’t fun to me.Last edited by bronxbombers21325; 03-26-2020, 02:38 PM.Comment

It was after patch 1.04 is when this started happening to me as well. There was plenty of hit variety from the AI, now they can only score via HRs, which they seemingly can hit at will on a pitch location.Comment

I either hit a HR or line out. Been really frustrating after what was some really nice variety in the beginning.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
I moved up to legend difficulty until Mike Lowe's set dropped. His have always been perfect for my style. I was hitting 4-5 HR's a game on base HOF hitting.
I am now hitting 0-4 hr's on any given game and it feel's much better.
I HATE the feeling of hitting HR's and not feeling good about it. So I am glad it is fixed for now lol.Comment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
I moved up to legend and have hit 3 home runs a game still. Avg. About 11 hits a game yet almost all runs scored on hr.
Just finished game withJay's. Lost 5-4. All runs for both teams scored off hr. They hit 4 I hit 3.

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
The AI is an issue too. I cannot tell you how many times they have hit homeruns on "okay" contact with exit velocity between 85-89mph. It doesn't even seem right. It happens more than squared up or perfect contact.Comment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
Like you, I decided to move up to Legend but decided to bring Solid Hits down a notch...seemed like the game played a lot better for me. I ended up taking some BP on custom mode for an hour, messing with both the timing slider and solid hit slider...I have to say I was really appreciating the hit variety. I decided on leaving timing at default but came to the conclusion that if I don’t like the contact after several games, if it’s too much, I’ll take my timing down a notch like I did in practice. Crossing my fingers on these changes.
Here are the changes I’ve made on Legend, Directional Hitting in case anyone is interested:
Solid Hits - 4
CPU Consistency - 7
Everything else is a default with the disclaimer I might possibly move Timing down to a 4.
Good luck.Comment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
The stats listed for your universal profile are just for this game right? Those numbers don’t include previous versions? I ask because while it feels like I’m hitting and giving up lots of homers it’s showing I’m only hitting 1.3 per game, the AI even less at 1.06. I wonder if others might be similarly surprised.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
LOL, and I'm getting good, or even "perfect" contract, and hitting 110 MPH ground balls to the infield, or easy fly balls to the OF.
Reading all of your commments, it does seem that most of you play in a different manner than I do. Is anyone else using traditional button swings still, like I am. X for regular swing and square for power? I wonder if that's one of the differences.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

I only use contact swing to hit (x button), but I was referring to the AI entirely. They hit more HRs on bad contact than they do on squared up or perfect contact with higher velocity. It seems like a weird bug or issue.Comment

Re: What happened?! WAYYY to many HRs.
I had a few great games this morning ... I just played a game ... 3/4 batters on the As homered with X only. The only one that didn’t “pop up” swing analysis FLIED IUT TO THE WARNING TRACK - trlurned it off lol

Isn't contact swing circle? X is regular swing and square is power swing.Comment
