Is the CPU Legend hitting unrealistic?

I’d like the challenge of pitching to the highest level but I wonder if there is an AI bump up to a level that’s just too assisted.

I noticed most Slider makers suggest HOF as an opponent.

Can anyone enlighten me on their experience Legend offense?

Pitching conservatively is the most important advice I can give you on Legend. If you get ahead in the count as a pitcher, throw pitches that start in the zone and break out of it to try to induce swings and misses. If you fall behind (and are in a situation where you need to throw a strike) you'll have to be more aggressive, but still try not to make the pitch too hittable because the Legend CPU feasts on mistakes. Don't be afraid to walk batters if the situation calls for it.

If you're on Pulse, Meter, or Classic pitching, you have to accept that there's going to be some degree of error in where you aim a pitch vs. where it ends up (the best visualization of this is Pulse itself) - that's just how this game is on its higher levels. If you're trying to throw something you intentionally don't want the batter to hit, start your pitch far enough out from the middle so that it has little to no chance of ending up IN the middle. This often means starting a pitch outside the zone - because the error can still bring its starting point back into the zone. Analog gets some exemption from this because it's very user skill based and less reliant on ratings, but it also takes a certain amount of mastery of that mechanic to not throw too many mistakes.

You aren't likely to get the CPU swinging and missing solely on pitch location because of its giant PCI on Legend, so changing speeds is very important. I don't know what the AI rules and tendencies are for how it gets "fooled" (and I don't want to because not knowing this is part of the fun and unpredictablity), but it's definitely possible to do so, even on Legend.

Good luck! I find myself chasing strikeouts a lot on Legend pitching, but they're extremely gratifying when you get them.
