Can't decide if I should buy it.
I've watched a bunch of reviews, I know all the new features. I still can't decide if I should get this game. I could careless about DD. I'm a franchise and RTTS guy. And nothing with those two modes make it seem worthy of an upgrade. But yet I still want to upgrade from last year. I'm glad we can make trades in March to Oct. But still not sure if that is enough for the $60 tag. Can we load our own rosters in March to Oct? Or do we have to start with the Opening Day rosters?

Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
lol, I was about to start this very topic....my only differences are
1-I just reinstalled 18 (don't have 19)
2- I would only play franchise, don't really mess with DD that much.
I have watched several streams, and to be honest don't really see the difference in 20 from 18, so I had thought about just picking up 19, and using Bacons fictional rosters, which is what I'm doing now in 18.
decisions, decisions...lolPeople are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack Lambert -
Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
I haven't bought it yet. I play with a friend at his house and even though the game seems to play better, I still haven't really decided if it's worth it to spend my own money. I really don't feel any excitement while playing. More like going through the motions.Comment

I really enjoyed March to October. But last year you start with base rosters and really can't make any moves. The fact they added it this year, makes me kinda want to get it. In franchise I only finish one season anyways as they are long. So more about being teams short term and no long. But IDK. Outside that, I don't see one feature that really wows me. RTTS looks like it got nothing. "instant gains" is stupid and pointless. The whole teammate friendship thing I think is a waste.
lol I don't know. I wonder if gameplay improved at all. Hitting is suppose to be so much better. As is fielding. But without actually trying it. With this whole lockdown thing, I might end up buying it anyways just to have something to do.Follow me on IG: select_model_studiosComment

Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
Gameplay wise it's...better.
If you enjoy '19, hold off for now. (Speaking only for myself as I am also a majority Franchise/RTTS player). There are just too many bugs currently.
After the bugs are fixed this game is a definite buy! The framerate improvements, new animations, and upgraded presentation --among other things-- make this a definite buy for anyone that loves this game. At least for me.Padres fan since '83.

Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
I can't not buy, day one purchase every year, though my faith did waver after I bought 18 and no season mode. got around that pretty quickly. but if there's a game, any game, and you need other people's opinion whether to purchase, I'd say hold off until you have the natural desire to want to get the game.

If you’re in it for franchise then it’s gotta be a wait and see IMO. So. Many. Bugs. What did they even do to make franchise better/different/anything from last year? I’m not getting this year and I hope many other franchise players don’t either to send a message to them.Comment

I think you should eventually buy it just not right now. 19 is very good and with how new sports games come out u should be fine with 19 until 20 becomes more stable patch/glitch wise.Comment

Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
This is just my opinion so no need for any white knights to jump in for the big company, but... in no particular order here’s some things I’d say to help w your choice because I don’t know what you deem important.
1. Equipment. They could care less about this and it means something to me when I’m trying to immerse myself or maybe after 3 years in a franchise I wanna switch it up. No Nike catchers gear. Color block issues as always. Shoes are still garbage. Honestly they skipped equipment this year. Not debatable.
2. Say they’ll have day 1 rosters with minor league players face scans etc. nope. Not even getting into this. It’s just a mess. Players missing. Option issue etc.
3. Nothing touched in franchise. Scouting? The draft? Computer logic upgrades? Bullpen management upgraded? All big nopes.
I’m sure there’s more but I’m tired of typing about a mode they’ve said is obsolete now. Sure people will still play and enjoy it, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re basically saying this mode is useless to us, and we know why.Comment

Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
I've bought it every year at or near launch since they started doing year to year saves, and the only version I ended up regretting getting right away was 18. I'm thoroughly enjoying 20 right now, and not regretting the purchase at all.
There is a notable improvement on the field over 19. I of course wish they would make some actual, real improvements to franchise as opposed to the lip service they've been giving it for the past... well... forever, but I still put 20 into the recommend category.Comment

Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
As someone who has played the game and carried over my franchise save and did the offseason in '20, I can say that the CPU roster logic has improved over previous years. Teams no longer signing back end vets to long term and/or expensive contracts, making trades to unclog jams at positions, and doing a good job of balancing their roster.
On the field '20 is easily the best of the series.
Franchise mode may not have gotten sexy upgrades, but its not identical to '19 in terms of how it functions because the CPU is better at roster logic, the ability to make a player a 2 way player, the updated injured list, and the rebranding option.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

If your just a casual gamer that kinda likes to play baseball every now and then, then you should probably wait till it goes on sale or skip it entirely if you already have another version that came out in the last couple of years. If you are REALLY into baseball, then it's a no brainer, get it because it's awesome.YouTube: MLB The Show 21 Atlanta Braves FranchiseComment

Re: Can't decide if I should buy it.
it's almost like Sony decided they've reached a point where franchise is at the best they can make it and rules changes are about the biggest difference this year. rebranding makes for a nice option but a lot of us wont even bother with it because of how much work you have to put into just one team changing, and let's face it, I'm lazy and am not going that route any time soon
I did forget the rule changes. That would be the reason I’d have to get the show 20 if I do. I was excited about the relocation stuff but it seems they did the bare minimum for that.Comment
