    Yes, exactly.

But does anyone know if I leave Scouting on Auto, then make changes, will the Auto listen to the changes I made or just ignore them and go back to doing its own thing?
If I remember correctly I believe they will listen to you for a day, then take the wheel back.

Correct, but the only prospects available for the entire draft are the ones that you discover. If you don't tell your West scout to look for power/speed OFs, there won't be any. So, in a sense, you're "creating" the prospects by discovering them. Make sense?

Is it just my franchise draft classes that are very underwhelming or what? After the draft I’ll go to the signing screen and toggle other teams to get a look at the talent and none of them look worth a damn. If this keeps up then when everyone that’s playing in 2024 retires in the next 10 years, I’ll have 32 teams fielding a bunch of spares. This is discouraging.

It's weird that you have 32 teams...

I'm slightly confused...what are the ratings that you're seeing? I typically see a lot of lower rated guys (55-65 overall), but higher potentials (75-90). Are you seeing something different? It's important to remember that the MLB draft is different from every other sport. Football, hockey and basketball's drafts all see (some) players come out and immediately make some sort of impact, whereas players that are drafted in baseball don't typically even get a whiff of the majors until they've had 3-4 years of development in the minors.

I meant 30 teams. Must’ve been thinking about football for some reason.

Maybe you’re right and I’m not considering the differences between MLB and other sports and just looking at this through the wrong lens. I’ll go back and look more closely at these picks and future draft picks.

All good! I had an excited "How did he do that!" moment, before I realized that it's definitely, still not a thing.

Yeah, once in a while you'll be able to draft someone who's a low 70, but the majority of the time, you're looking at low overall, high potential. The highest overall guys are usually the blue chip closer's at the top of the draft, or a late round starter.

I just found an 18 year old starting pitcher with A potential at 70 OVR. He's probably going to start for me next year!

With regards to the thread's original question, I send all 4 scouts out on the same discovery assignments for the first month or so. I usually do 3-4 different assignments, and always do at least one to find pitchers. I then spend 40-50 days just scouting individual prospects and get as many as possible full green. If there aren't enough prospects that I like, I'll send one of two scouts out on additional discovery assignments in the run up to the draft and try to get a handful of additional guys halfway scouted.

Deadly! I cheated the system a bit in an older franchise...edited one of my higher potential picks into Ken Griffey III, and bumped up his overall so that he'd debut as a 19 year old.

I'm doing a Mariner's franchise now...I may end up re-creating that beautiful bugger!

auto. I loved scouting and recruiting in EA's old college football but in baseball the draft is on automatic for me. just not into baseball drafting. what I much more enjoy is going the free agent route and try to win immediately.
