Pitching
Are we ready to talk about how bad the pitching is this year yet? I have done meter pitching on all star for years and have never had this many problems. Even on perfectly timed pitches it almost never goes where I am aiming. Way to many meatballs left over the plate. Almost every game is a 11-10 barn burner at this point. Re: Pitching
I pitch on HoF with meter with the strike zone turned off and haven't had much issue before this year. Although not unplayable, I've also noticed meatballs are more of an issue this year on both sides. I played with the sliders a bit and have yet to find my "happy place". Maybe it's just us..?
Give it a try on HoF, stats make more of a difference at higher levels. Play with the HUM consistency sliders and CPU timing a bit. Maybe it will work for you.Padres fan since '83.
Was present for an Ozzie backflip in St. Louis when I was 4...changed my life.

Re: Pitching
Pitching is fantastic this year. You actually can get punished if your pitcher misses his pitch.
You have to be very careful with placement in hitter's counts....I'm finding myself being way more cautious than normal, which is also stimulating more walks than I ever have before...which I LOVE.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: Pitching
I don’t use meter so no idea on that, but I find classic pitching is better than ever.
One rule of thumb I find that probably applies to all pitching interfaces though is to look for SOME kind of consistency with inaccuracy; i.e., you throw a pitch a couple of times and it behaves a certain way, the next couple times you throw it assume it’s going to behave that way again and adjust your location accordingly.
You should be able to have some kind of feel for your pitches to the point where you’re asking, “ok, where do I have to aim this so I don’t leave it over the heart of the plate,” and not just “ok aim it here and it should go exactly to that spot.” That’s not how it works and I’m actually really happy about that.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

I also use classic always and I picked up on this right away too on this years game.. and also every pitcher is different so this year im trying to play as many ST games so I can get a feel on my whole team before games count.Comment

Re: Pitching
I'm also noticing that the CPU is way better at picking up your patterns this year. In previous years I could throw anywhere from 75 to 90% of my pitches down in the zone, and the CPU would struggle to punish me for it.
This year I hesitate to go above 60%, and the low and inside or low and outside fastball is no longer a reliable first strike getter.

Pitching
I pick up things from peoples slider sets and kinda make it my own set tailored to my skills and liking, so I picked up the classic default all star pitching approach with joshC and it’s honestly so fun. I hit on HOF though. It’s absolutely perfect.

Re: Pitching
Yeah between that and the strike zones being called too small. Pitching isn't very enjoyable this year.PSN: Dalton1985
