Starting players being assigned to AAA teams? (Unable to use them in Play Now, etc.)

i'm new to this game and baseball, so i was wondering why starting players are being assigned to aaa teams? for example, before this recent patch aaron judge and lemahieu (i think, could be mistaken) were assigned to the railriders...

but now, severino and paxton (who were previously assigned to the mlb) have been moved to the railriders.

is it possible for me to play with all these players outside of franchise mode? like doing a roster edit and assigning them to the mlb? or is that not possible?

it's because they're injured in real life, so SCEA moves them to the minors until they recover.

You can go in roster moves and put them back up on the MLB roster.

I think it's done that way for online purposes. for offline, you can play it how you want it.
