Re: To Quick Count or not to Quick Count?

The only time I have ever used QC games was when I was playing CPU vs CPU games in franchise games for the teams I do not control and wanted the game to finished sooner than they obviously would had QCs not been utilized. But I would never dream of using QCs for franchise games for my team and/or for RTTS games. If I want deep counts for those games, I need to developer better skills towards not swinging at pitches out of the strike zone, and yes I am slowly (emphasize the word slowly here) becoming better at recognizing bad pitches.

I use it when playing or i would never finish multiple seasons. This works out very well for franchise players.I also like M.O.M. I just wish they would have on field visual for quick Manage instead of text

Re: To Quick Count or not to Quick Count?

Personally I am not a fan. I have found using Quick Manage is a better way to speed through a season or a game, if needed. I don't like being thrown into a random count, doesn't matter how good/bad, and feel like I have to swing right away. No flow, no understanding of the pitchers mechanics, what his pitches do, etc. I like figuring all of that out over the course of a game. The Show does a pretty good job with the pitcher vs hitter sequence.

Totally understand those that enjoy it though, just not for me.

Button mashing between pitches can also speed up a game.

Loved the feature in All Star Baseball and I would use them in this game also.

Question about quick counts, are they like All Star Baseball 2005 where you can set Random, Smart, or a particular count? Or are they just random? Or do they always start 1-1, etc?

              They are randomly generated.

I use both. QC vs divisional opponents and full vs non divisions. Now I know that seems backwards and I should play the divisional games with FC but I play them so much I want to get through the games faster. Check out the Padres opening schedule. They play the Rockies like 10 out of the first 14 games.

I need Quick Counts on, I just wish there was a way to keep them "on" so I don't have to turn it on every game.

Working the count is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game for me.

                      I have noticed more 2 - , 3 - 1 counts and my walks are up.

yeah, I'll never come close to leading the league in walks while batting w/QC off but when I do draw one I'm as pleased as hitting a 2 out double with a runner on first. who knew mundane could be so exciting lol

and when I get walked w/QC on, I'm like ho-hum de dum-dum. for me the biggest difference w/QC on is you gotta be ready for a lot of ‘1st pitch’ hacking

I say no to Quick Counts, however if you face the decision of Using them or having to sim some games then definitely use them.

                          Simming is blasphemy lol.

                            Well said, Caulfield.

I’m not the most patient hitter in the league either, but even working it to a nice hitter’s count is one of the best feelings in the world. It’s enough to get the ol’ ticker revving and lord knows I need it.
