One is how dramatically better the catcher blocking system is. The last few years it felt "canned" as often the ball would scoot by the catcher go go to the same spot towards the 1st base dugout. Now the results are balls beautifully blocked and quickly responded to by the catcher.
One that drives me nuts is the auto fielding of short fly balls. More specifically balls that land in the area behind the 2b and 1b- also behind SS and 3b. I have noticed that if there are runners on base in these situations that the infielders automatically go somewhere in the infield but never give a thought to going to the OF and chase these balls down leaving the LF or RF charging hard and not getting to the ball. When there are no runners on base the ss, 2b, 3b and 1b fielders give chase like they should. While this doesn't show up frequently, when it does it is frustrating.
I for one love the home runs, both mine and the cpu's. Last year MLB set a record for HR's and this game shows that. Also, that adds to the competitiveness of the AI. I love how challenging, yet realistic this version feels.
Kudos to the game makers because this game is awesome! I give it a 10+ on replay-ability.
