This game is a few toggle options away from broadcast, clean screen perfection. Unfortunately, it appears the baserunner diamond is back under all scenarios. Any ideas if they will try again with better logic like you seem to mention? i.e not there on offense if you have auto baserunning and auto sliding ON and not there on defense if auto throwing is ON; and not there when playing/watching CPU vs CPU? But agree...the removal of the white dot and blue circle for auto fielding is nice...I've always liked the thought of playing defense manually but the blue circle, helpers, notifications (switch player, cut off man, ball icon on HR wall, etc.) turn me off from it.
    Well, back to playing now...
I think the only real scenario I can see is for them to add a dedicated toggle for it on MLBTS 21.

That way you can choose to turn it off for whatever play style you choose to employ. And have it on as well for whatever way you play.

Also they need to simply bring back the Pitch Callout toggle that was mysteriously removed for this years game. Because of it’s removal they slaved the white dot pitch call out ODS to Pitch and swing info for 20. Which is fine because it was a massive eye sore for those of us who have always played with all that stuff off.

But there are some people who want that swing info on (I simply do not need it...at all but that is me).

SO for MLBTS 21 let’s hope (and I gave this feedback to them) we see two toggles dedicated to this stuff:

    Runner Diamond on or off
Pitch Call out toggle added back to the game settings.

That would fix it for everyone 100% and allow the freedom to choose what you want and don’t want in terms of OSD aides.

    Everyone wins in that scenario.

Like you.....I am loving the clean screen we all know and love being back on what is hands down the best version of The Show we have ever played. Bar none.

Yeah....we know my man. I have 45 years of playing and coaching...I know where the balls are supposed to be thrown...based on what it going on in front of me. Without that......you do not have eyes to see what runners are attempting in certain situations. You keep talking about the easy simple...automatic throws....but there are plenty of other situations where you have to make decisions based on situation and what the runners are doing or not doing.

I am talking second and third...do I fire to third or go for the guy at home? Mmmmm how about a guy tagging from second to third. should I hit the cut of go for a seed throw and take a chance he is not tagging and make an overthrow and then he get’s the base anyway......stretching singles to doubles......if you want any shot at nailing some guys on a stretch double you cannot do the cut off route....you must attempt a seed throw from the corner of the outfield. Without being able to see if the CPU is attempting that.....I am conceding it every time because I will not attempt a seed throw every time with the risk of an errant throw.....because they do happen and they will then get the base they were not even attempting to get.

Again...most of the time it is pretty automatic where to go....but not every time and that is called playing blind and making assumptions. IRL we do not make assumptions....we can see what is happening in front of us.....that is why we have that diamond in the top right corner......it is our field vision that we simply do not have on a video game like we do IRL.

Anyway they did the right thing.....they brought it back for those that make their own throws.

If your letting the CPU make the throws you would never need a visual aide....because you are not doing anything. Your simply watching.

I think in future versions of the game they can simply make a specific toggle for the baserunner visual aide so those that want it off and want to play that way.....can. That is the right solution. Not the arbitrary manner in which they just....shut it off.

They knew it was flawed after discussions and righted a wrong.

I don’t disagree that all of us should have the options to play the way we want. This game has always been the pillar of sports games in providing numerous options to play the game.

I gave very good feedback to them so they can implement it better next time around.

They righted a wrong on this one. The game is playing amazingly and looks fantastic again for those that play a clean screen (blue circle gone, white dot pitch call out gone).
Thanks again for letting me know how long you've been around the game. I keep forgetting even with the frequency that you bring it up.

I guess 45 years makes you the authority so I'll back down with my insignificant 30 years. I'm glad you got your visual helper back so you can play again.
