Played my first game on legend with maxed out pitch speed sliders and noticed...

the bat speed or speed of the players swings seems to correlate with the pitch speed and difficulty your on.

Switching to this mode, I expected to be gassed by fastballs constantly and not be able to pull the ball because the ball does come in very fast. But what I noticed is that if I went to swing at around the same time that I normally would that my player would still be able to make good timing and contact, but it seems like swings were massively sped up.

This was also noticeable against the CPU as some of the swings they took looked extremely fast.

Anyone else notice this? Did the developers intentionally make the game designed that when playing on faster pitch speeds that swings would be sped up to compensate so the timing windows can stay around the same and so the CPU and AI would not need to be reworked? Does this also mean that baserunning is adjusted for the different pitch speeds as well and that when you try to steal your players get quicker jumps to compensate for the increased pitch speed?

In 19 I played on HoF with max pitch speeds and I was late on a lot of fastballs. In 20 I was way too early on HoF with max pitch speeds so I bumped difficulty up to Legend. Its a little better but pitch speeds seem to be slower this year. A 95+ mph fastball still comes in fast but I like I can still turn on it, especially if you sit on fastball. I too have noticed “faster” swings but I just thought it was because swing animations were smoother.

Once you go 100% pitch speeds it's hard to go back. You guys should try the Retro (behind the catcher cam) when playing at 100% pitch speeds. For some reason, it's more responsive which makes it easier to time pitches.

Here's what my Retro Cam looks like after editing it a little.

I'm missing something here. What's the difference between retro and the regular game? The graphics look exactly the same. I thought retro would look a lot different.

That's the only difference playing retro? I've never played it.

I thought they meant the graphics would be retro, like those little cartoon characters. lol

Use the “Retro” camera, not the mode . Seems to be the most responsive IMO
