Re: Wind never blows in in franchise
I agree. And its always been that way in the decade that I've played the game. I can't ever recall a time where I hit a deep fly ball towards the pole that was foul and then curved in to become a home run, no matter how strongly the wind was blowing. And given that I've played thousands of games at Wrigley, many with strong wind, you'd think that I would have.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Sounds like it wouldn’t be a factor but if it’s happening for some people and not others it could be a carry-over save issue. Are you playing with a franchise started in 20 or a carry-over from 19 or beyond?

Yeah..I always check the wind early in the game. The OSD of the wind that Matt V usually discusses is also accurate.Comment

I started a new franchise just to see what the "full minors" looked like but only played a few games. I'll begin a few games in that franchise just to see what it looks like.
I'm conducting a test of each game I play to track what the arrow indicates in the pause menu and what the game log says regarding wind direction.≡Comment

I suspect the game log is correct but can't confirm it because it is difficult to determine what impact the wind has on the baseball if any. A ball down either foul line always curves foul regardless of what the wind is doing sometimes defying the laws of physics.≡Comment

Re: Wind never blows in in franchise
Started 4 games in a new franchise. Pushed the options button at the beginning of each game. Arrow point straight to center field each time. One of the four times the game log showed wind blowing out to rf - other three times out to cf. I have yet to see the wind blowing in with around 40 games played.

The wind does indeed have an impact on the ball while its in the air, as you'll see balls into the wind, especially if its blowing hard get held up and when hit with the wind the ball will carry a bit more. Also you'll see the ball get blown by cross winds.
The only issue with the wind is the indicator always points straight up when you first pause the game, but it corrects itself to indicate the correct direction of the wind.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

As was mentioned in this thread, if you pause the game again, a second time, you'll see the wind indicator pointing in the correct direction the wind is blowing as mentioned in the game log or when Matt V gives the weather report.

Not a major problem but another thing in the game that used to work fine and somehow got changed.≡Comment
