Hitting with commentary off!

I seem to have better results hitting with Matty V et al. OFF. The commentary just gets in the way of timing in my experience. Does anyone else have the same finding?

As repetitive and tiresome as the broadcast is, I still keep it on. I tried turning it off but found myself losing focus without the broadcast to sort of keep me engaged. I like to treat games as if I’m watching them on TV.

I made the swap years ago. It took me a few weeks to get used to it, but I'm so glad I did, and I actually find it way more immersive without the commentary.

Honestly it was Pleasac that did me in. After about the umpteenth time he criticized me for not swinging at a pitch ("what's he waiting for? That pitch was right there!!!" Meanwhile the pitch was the most debatable of called strikes in the history of baseball) I could feel the hate seething through me. Turned off the commentary that moment, in the middle of the game, and never looked back.

I think my batting average jumped .050 points that day.

I haven’t heard the commentary in almost 2 years. I have a second tv with netflix/MLB Network going or music playing if I’m playing online.

The first thing I do when I get the game is turn off menu music and commentary. A few years ago you had the option to choose which announcer you could turn off and I liked that. I don't mind Matty V that much but Mark Derosa (or whatever his name is) just bugs the hell out of me. I can't stand listening to him talk for real or in the game.

Mark DeRosa is awful. I hate everything about the way he talks. His inflection is like bugs crawling on your skin.
