Pick-offs in RTTS

This is ridiculous in my RTTS experience. There used always be a small sound that could cue you into a pick-off attempt but not this year. I do not take a lead any larger than the auto one given by the game and I’m picked off EVERY TIME!! Even when I see the spin I still can’t get back.

Anyone else experiencing this or do I just suck at getting back??

i noticed the slow down effect does not work on pick offs. so i tend to hold the left stick down then up if im stealing.

for years i got picked off in rtts and it pisssed me off. i found out you have to hold L-stick left and lean back to the bag in case he tries to pick you off. SO basically you hold L-stick left (if stealing 2nd) the entire time until u see him start his pitch and then hit L-stick right (to steal 2nd). this is assuming you're using analog controls for baserunning.

after years thinking how ridiculous it was that i couldnt prevent myself from being picked off, i now realize the show's base stealing mechanic really is intuitive and realistic.

The pitcher animation is a lot faster this year, not as much time to steal either

No problem, I think i learned that here as well. I will say that i have yet to steal a base or even attempt to. It was only one time, but im hoping what happened is only a one-time thing. The comment here in this thread about the pitcher being faster might be on to something and might be something that needs to be fixed.

During my lone opportunity to steal, the leadoff animation made it impossible to leadoff and then steal. If thats happens for you as well you CAN steal without leading off its just more difficult obviously and you need a really good jump.

Something that I noticed that really helps with my stealing is watching for the catcher to move, I get picked off more because I'm looking at the catcher most of the time but the second you see him flinch you can take off and steal without taking any lead quite often
