Seriously, whoever says this clearly plays on rookie with all hitting sliders maxed out. The fact that people are defending the broken state of the game after the update is sad. All SDS had to do was increase pitcher control so there were less meatballs being thrown, problem solved. But no, they just completely nuked hitting because a bunch of kids couldn't handle the fact that their 99 overall pitcher gave up a homer or two in Diamond Dynasty. Now every pitcher gets to be an ace whether they deserve it or not.

I'm guessing you didn't play before the first post-launch patch. Every game was essentially a home run derby because pitches were thrown right down the middle even with good release way too often. Devs panicked and tried to fix it, but instead of fixing pitching, they just made hitting terrible.

I don't expect much to come of this advice since it's pretty clear what the tone of the thread is, but oh well. I'll give it a shot.

If you're really hitting nothing but line drives at people, raise the hitting difficulty. Because if you're really hitting nothing but line drives period (regardless of if they're hits or not), something is wrong. You need some light contact to keep the game balanced, and in fact some of that light contact ends up rolling through the infield or blooped into the shallow OF for hits. Others end up being foul balls that extend at-bats. There's a fair bit of "tweeners" that aren't solid contact but yet end up as base hits, both in real life and the game.

If you happen to be on Legend and are still feeling like this, try Legend+ through dynamic difficulty - it's where I've found my sweet spot this year. Also the contact slider has a decent effect on your ability to put the bat squarely on the ball (and visibly reduces/expands the PCI on-screen).

            Good luck.

Re: This game is a parade of endless at-em balls.

Just had a 15 hit game where half of the hits were soft liners just above the infielders jump hight. Also my first home run in 5 games (and I have tons of power in my lineup).

The game before that that was a tight 3-0 win where the only RBI hits were from grounders up the middle.

Game before that had tons of variety. Lasers off the wall, looping hits that just barely stayed fair, solid power ally drives, and seeing eye grounders. Oh yes, and at-em bombs.

I have no idea where you're getting these results from, but it's certainly not the settings I'm playing on.

Don’t tell the Cubs this, as I just put up 24 runs on 31 hits over two games

if you're playing online I guess you're pretty much stuck with whatever recipe Sony comes up with.
but if you're seeing this problem off-line then there are any number of options with sliders if your skill set doesn't jibe w/the default sliders.

Yes there are a few issues that need to be ironed out, but the only way hitting or pitching is terrible offline, is because pride gets in the way. Adjust sliders, adjust difficulty, you have the ability to make this game fun for YOU.

Hallelujah! I swear, how can this game play so brilliantly for some and others it's flat out awful. I've heard so much about not wanting to touch sliders, etc., etc. If this game came WITHOUT sliders it would be a mess as it's not meant to serve everyone out of the box.

Otherwise why put up with the obvious frustration?I wouldn't. I'd either try the fixes given, or hang it up. The game is full of options to allow this. Maybe some people just don't have the patience. I dunno.

I have the game exactly where I want it with pitch speed adjustments and TWO slider changes off of default.

Now you zone hitting guys may need to give it a little more love than that, but it really isn't difficult with this game to tune things where you want them.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Hitting seems fine to me. Just waxed the Mariners in my Angels franchise. This is on Legend+ hitting, no quick counts.

I sometimes have games like this, sometimes i couldn’t hit a beach ball. This is baseball
