    I believe the way it works (at least in RttS) is that the teams will switch schedules with the teams in their division each year. So you may or may play the same interleague teams as the previous year.

      Year 1 (Marlins) I started off season playing PHI at home, season 2 I opened up at Nats. My AL two-game series (home & away) were the Rays in ‘20. Now in year 2 my two game opponent is the Jays. Not much, but having a new Opening Day opponent is good stuff. So at least there is some sort of difference.

        But... that also means they have a horrible inefficient franchise structure if that it's not possible to make these changes.
        This argument was easier to accept way back when they were still updating franchise mode. Now days, not so much.
