I use fast play now to keep the cutscene from showing up.

They need more commentary based around what's happening in the context of the season and stats. The game has so much information in it that can be utilized to add depth to what's being said. Another thing missing is the back and forth between the team. Often Matt V will say something and then there is just a pause this weird pause that IRL would be filled by someone else responding. Of course they shouldn't be non-stop chatterboxes but the flow of the commentary is very stilted.

Also the entire commentary team should record audio of them saying all the names available in the audio name library. It's weird hearing them say things like "Yeah I want you to keep an eye on the guy at shortstop" Oh yeah the guy at short stop if only the guy had a name.

On the Heidi front she's only annoying because she "flat out" has the least amount of lines recorded and has a poor mo-cap model. We don't see the guys in the booth and we don't need to see Heidi. Give her more to say and if they keep her cutscenes make them skipable.

Having individual booths for each team would be cool but I'd be good with just having two that you could just set to random. Don't really have a preference for who would be the second booth team just as long as it's not Joe Buck.

Overall the commentary is "batting below the dreaded Mendoza line"
"Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."

Heidi Whatney is literally awful in the game. The decision to add her wasn't bad, but her lines are poor, limited and her mo-cap model is disgusting - she looks possessed. Horrible addition due to the absolutely abysmal implementation of her.

I remember a time where dev team philosophy was “don’t include something in the game unless it’s well implemented” and continue to improve it on future iterations. They failed on both sides.

Last 3 years proved it’s not the case anymore and specifically when it’s about franchise features. They just throw in something quickly and forget about it.

But hey, better get used to it, that’s how they’re treating their core base fans now.
