Its not if, its a when. And I feel like its gonna happen when MLB decides to expand. You wont make 2 divisions 6 teams and the rest 5, so youre gonna most likely make 4 divisions total with 8 teams in each. And when you do that, youre gonna completely realign divisions or youll end up with an eastern team and western team in the same division. And when you do THAT, one AL team will probably end up in the NL, they arent gonna go for it, and youll end up with the DH in both leagues.

Without debating the the merits of of AL versus NL. I think if the MLBPA keeps pushing for a universal DH it is inevitable that it will be adopted. That’s basically 15 or perhaps more extra jobs in the MLB for players.

You can already choose universal DH in the game. It’s been in the game for years.

Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan. Pacific League uses DH, Central League doesn’t.

You can only set DH options in Franchise mode (maybe RTTS I'm not sure)

In franchise you must set it up when you start your franchise and are setting up all the options. After that, its locked for the duration of that franchise

Yes, when you first start a franchise there is an option that asks when you want DH used. You can turn it off for both leagues, on for both, or use it like it is used now. It can only be changed at the beginning of a franchise though. You can’t change it later on.

Jim Bowden is reporting that the Universal DH will be one of the additions to MLB this year when baseball returns.

Sony needs to implement this option for exhibition mode or the game will honestly be trash. If they can remove fans from the stands this doesn’t seem like a tough thing to add.

It is time. DH is the way to go.

I get the purists...I personally think shifts should be eliminated and your position should require you to be within a certain area of your position...sure would make the field ugly with all the boxes out there though....lol

Agreed. Especially with MLB negotiating about adding in a universal DH for the IRL 2020 season, I think I might just roll with it for my franchise.

And i dont think itd be that difficult. Just make the rule that 2 infielders have to be on each side of 2nd base at all times and be done with it. If you wanna put SS one step to the left of 2nd and the 2nd baseman 10-15 steps to the right, fine by me. But having short play an "up the middle" 2nd baseman position and putting the 2nd baseman in short right is way too extreme.

That seems incredibly unfair to the NL teams to make a switch now when they’ve already put their roster together. Fortunately it benefits the Mets because Céspedes can probably be an asset there.

It happened once due to a real-life situation some years back where no fans were let into the stadium. It's not unprecedented, plus if you play custom practice you'll see that it's possible for them to do that in every stadium.

Thats exactly why I asked, because I know its at least possible for them.

Would be really nice to see an option for it when youre selecting the weather and broadcast style.

The only thing that bothers me, when you activate the DH rule in the NL in the game: the morale system is still based on the line ups without the DH (in the NL)
So, let's say you have a player in your NL team thats only playing as a DH, and isn't in the lineups without DH (bc he's no good defender) he will be mad and his morale (and his overall) will go down because he's just a bench player and not an everyday player as expected (which he is).

Just wanted to let you know, because i play every franchise with the DH rule and it sucks everytime the player's ratings are still based on the no-DH-Lineup
