Re: Bunting, what are your solution(s)/fixed?
Playing with auto-fielding, my Freeman at first just threw it to second on a sac bunt. It was so late the play wasn't even close and both runners ended up safe. There has to be something screwy going on with the logic on these plays because there was zero reason to even attempt the throw because it was a rare decent bunt that was relatively softer. There was also already an out, so why not take the free out and make it two outs with the runner on 2nd, up 4?“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

They just need to fix bunting in general. Even within DD certain players should be able to lay down the bunt some times.
If a good bunter is a good bunter he should be good both in DD and franchise. Not bad at both.
No DD player is stacking his lineup with bunters

Re: Bunting, what are your solution(s)/fixed?
Well the Yankees steal ratings are super low, so no it doesn't have to be a runner that has good steal ratings. I'm playing a franchise with the Yankees. That's how I have bunted successfully 3 out of 3 times.Comment

Which is more likely to advance runners?
A bunt, or that animation when you line drive it back at the pitcher?
Don't want me to bunt, fine.Comment

I sadly just quick manage bunt situations. I wish I didn’t feel like I had to do that though

Re: Bunting, what are your solution(s)/fixed?
Last year I had success with bunting when using Zone Hitting. If I tracked the ball properly I would push the PCI up at the last instant. This seemed to deaden the ball as if I got on top of it.
Also, what I would do prior to the pitch is press the X button (so the batter does that practice kind of swing) and get a lead with the runner. This seemed to avoid the instant throw over you get from the cpu when you lead off. At least I think it did, who knows.
Anyway, I have no idea if this would work in '20 and of course it's not going to work with Directional.Comment

Also, turning up the baserunning speed sliders would allow for more doubles to be hit. Seeing as how there aren't enough doubles how the game comes by default.Comment

Re: Bunting, what are your solution(s)/fixed?
Simply just another way the developers show that their focus lies with DD. They knew the DDers were cheesing bunts three years ago so they coded in rocket bunts and us franchise guys just have to live with it.
Remember the days of show before DD existed? Damn...

Re: Bunting, what are your solution(s)/fixed?
My last few bunt attempts in my franchise mode I've been avoiding aiming it with the right thumbstick and have instead just been pressing down (directional). They still come off of the bat too hard, but have all been successful sacrifices.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

The ball still comes off of the bat too hard, but the end result is a sacrifice. Like I said, it may just be a coincidence, but maybe the R stick aiming method is only meant to be used when testing to bunt for a hit and not using it makes the sacrifice work the way it has for me bu pushing the ball far enough away from the line that the force at 2nd is never attempted.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Bunting, what are your solution(s)/fixed?
There are 2 issues here
1) ball comes off bat too hard
2) fielders will choose to get out at second 95% of the time even when IRL they would have thrown to first since runner was so close to second anyway. Many of these plays incorrectly score the runner out when he clearly is safe.
SDS needs to correct both of these items for bunting to be realistic.
