Re: Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
I understand the parts of baseball.
I'm just saying why punish those who are happy with other things they patched, because manual fielding is having issues, when those using manual fielding can switch to AUTO fielding as a workaround while they work on patch 1.09.
If that fix doesn't work then the alternative is to shelve the game until they release patch 1.09 and hopefully that will fix the issue. Or delete all patches and disconnect from the internet until they release patch 1.09 which will hopefully resolve the issues some in the community are having.
Again its not ideal, but there are options available for those who are having the fielding issues.Comment

Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
There were previous patches that fixed other issues prior to 1.08.
You can find those patches and what they fixed here

Re: Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
IMO, there's so much development time put into creating manipulative code for the online racket. Not just creating, but also solving ways to disguise their techniques. So, with really no development time left, they try to nerf that same code for offline modes and we get all these messes.
I can't prove anything, but this "fielding" mess isn't because SDS can't solve fielding physics, it's because they tried some new "anxiety" code and didn't get it quite right.Comment

In reality, I don't know what's going on, but these games are becoming as crooked as heck. Some day it's all going to come out. A dev somewhere is going to reach his breaking point and spill the beans and those that turned a blind eye in hopes of becoming a game-changer or just hoping to win favor or some free swag, will have admit it.

Re: Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
SDS has never or will they ever roll a patch back. I know them pretty well and they will take the time to get "All things fixed" not roll a patch back until they get everything figured out.
They will continue to monitor feedback, emails, games , twitter and bug reports to narrow down the issue and instead of going 3 steps back they will continue to move forward.

Re: Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
Being that it's Sunday and nothing has been announced yet, chances are that a new patch won't come out until later next week.
I'm guessing it's taking longer because it's harder for the game to work on development. But also because they honestly did not know what was causing the issues and how to fix it, and if they have fixed it they now atleast want to spend more time testing to make sure they actually did fix the issue before they release another patch.
The Show player tournament is probably one of the biggest and most visible events and advertisement for this franchise.
People being in quarantine and getting a stimulus check and staying inside all day actually probably means that video games are more likely to be sold.
If I would imagine, SDS would want this game to be playing at it's best and have fielding fixed. So this way when MLB players play this game on the livestream the game looks better and players don't bad mouth the fact that fielding is broken. I'm sure SDS wants to fix this, and they are not going to intentionally destroy fielding. It's just that they don't know how to quickly do this and if they have fixed it they want to atleast test it for a period of time to make sure it works and that they haven't broken something else.Last edited by NYMets2016; 04-19-2020, 06:20 PM.Comment

Re: Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
This is a stretch, even for me. I don't think they intentionally add a code that makes every game close. I think they try to code a competitive experience, but that in itself is the problem. It's code. An artifical intelligence source of any kind is just code telling the game what to do. So they're coding the game to be harder on higher difficulty levels, which in turn is telling the game to... Be hard. And that may manifest in unrealistic happenstances.

What I was eluding too was a current topic of games being designed to evoke anxiety in players as to feel "hopeless", thus needing a solution, and then being lured to the lootbox or whatever is being sold.
Now, a lot of the discussion involves EA but MLBTS did get some criticism as far as designing it's game to waste a lot of the players' time, so he/she feels they're running out of time and feels anxious and looks for a short cut.
Is it possible? I guess so, but no one can prove it undeniably. It's been a skeptical discussion.
So, I think you think I'm talking about comeback code (because that's your issue with offline modes), but I'm not. I'm talking about games designed to frustrate players into a paywall that they were manipulated into choosing.
So, what my point was (and I apologize for not being clear) is that their offline mode code is not built independently, but rather borrowed and nerfed down from the online code (because there isn't enough time and resources to do both independently) and a lot is going wrong because one design has two masters.
And, this is not my theory, but rather a topic that seems to be expanding to more and more online personalities (gamer centric, of course). All of which is speculation, but speculation based some really interesting discoveries over the past 6 or 7 years.Comment

Re: Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
The game gets sloppier every year. So glad i didnt buy it full price and have to wait 2 months to be able to play a playable version.
Some pretty basic issues that shouldn't even hit release if you test properly. Assume there's more important things to code and test than fielding though...Comment

Re: Patch Release Dates: Does This Seem Off?
Just to chime in here I was just wanting to know if anyone has heard of any info on when we will see the next patch. There are some pretty obvious issues going on with gameplay right now besides the fielding issues witch really suck and has cost many players games on all levels and modes there are two for me that just are right in front of my face every time I play first is when you draw walk and the player tosses the bat and jogs toward first with the bat in his hand after tossing it and this happens 5 six times a game. 2 when you go to a break and someone has scored the last player to bat will show instead of the player that scored. Anybody else seen these two things??? They happen to me every time I play a game play now franchise but they are so obvious I’m really shocked that they have not already been addressed yet. It really ruins what is a really good game presentation for me. PS have also reported these at show nation more then once and have not seen a single response back.Comment
