I don't think sharpness has anything to do with it. I keep my sharpness high because, well..I like it sharp. But tried low and high and no difference in HDR. Just personal preference.

I think HDR has a lot to do with your tv monitor and perhaps your video card. I can't explain why everything I do on my PC and every game I play on my PC is absolutely beautiful in HDR and in full screen but I can't get Madden PC to look the same unless I am in windowed mode. Ugh

Yup. I concur. The game looks incredible with my C9. My brother-in-law was watching me play last night and he was amazed and kept commenting on how the graphics and game looked realistic.

I’m debating on getting a 55” Phillip 4K tv. But don’t know if it will be any good with the show. It’s under $500 cdn at Walmart so.. tempting. I currently have like 8-10 years old 50” Panasonic plasma and still works awesome, like new still. I’m big on graphics too and would love to see some upgrade and I’d move my Panasonic to another room. But not sure if it’s really worth it to get a cheap 4K tv as everyone is saying the show seems to struggle with it so.... any feedbacks would be nice.

I purchased a Vizio M8 recently and am more than happy with its performance based on how little I paid for it.

It has high marks for HDR movies and games from rtings.

Yeah I know. Just would be nice hearing from fellow the show members if they have or had Phillips or RCA TV.

In my humble opinion the Vizio TVs are hard to beat for the money, I have 4 at my house and have have nothing but good things to say about all of them....... my oldest one is 10 years old and still going strong........my gaming tv is a P series 55’ and was like $500/$600 I think

Use rtings like the above post suggested, BestBuy has the Sony 900F 65” for $999. That’s what I have and the Show 20 is beautiful in HDR.

I got a 55 inch plilips tv from Walmart black friday 2018 it has no game and HDR looks dark and games look dark even without it. You probably better off getting a TLC 6 Series or similar.

Yeah that’s probably the same tv I was looking at lol. Sucks cause I don’t really have much money so the price looks too good to turn down but if the tv isn’t that good then well.. yeah.. that’s not good lol.

                          Re: HDR on the Show

Linus just released a good video which showcases how HDR from the same sources can look great on some displays and just plain awful on others.

If only HDR weren't such a mess of a standard. Just because it says HDR on the box doesn't mean the implementation is any good (unfortunately).

He dips a bit into how some scenes can look better than others on lower end HDR displays. If you think your HDR looks good in NBA but awful in the Show for example, it's because the scene is outside.

I have a 65 inch C9 and it looks amazing in game mode. The default setting in game mode are terrible. Just change a few settings and it looks incredible. I also have a 65 inch KS9000 and the OLED blows that TV away even with lower nits for for HDR brightness. For the ones having HDR problems, I would suggest tweaking some settings before just turning it off.

Curious what your settings are because I’ve tried everything and with it off is still the better option. It could also be the C9 jus has better HDR because my C7 is 2 years older.

I have 55-inch Sony X900F and 43-inch Samsung Q60R. Both have Ps4 Pros on them. HDR on the X900F looks amazing no matter what game. The Q60R it’s a mix The Show looks good with HDR but I’ve had to mess with the picture setting a lot to get the colors just right. With HDR off the The Show is lot brighter.
