    Team budgets

I’m trying to get a better understanding of the team budgets this year and there’s a few parts to it I seem to be confused about. When I go to sign a free agent I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the, “max offer,” at the bottom of the screen is referring to. All the rest of the numbers make sense for the most part but this one, I have no clue. Does anyone have an understanding of what this means exactly?

Max offer is maximum value you can offer weekly to that player and stay within your budget

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Ah, gotcha. I've always wondered why they break things like that down per week. It seems an odd way to display it.

It wasn't always that way and was far easier to understand. Same with scouting being a scale to 8 instead of 10.

They have made some odd decisions in franchise. Not sure where they get these ideas.

The scouting makes sense as real prospects are graded from 0-80.

Well weekly makes is more "realistic" as that is how MLB players are paid is on a weekly basis.

Also, the change allows it be dynamic now in the sense that your budget can increase/decrease over the course of a season depending on the success of your team.

The only issue is that they don't constantly display the overall budget for the user to see, instead making the user calculate their overall budget by multiplying the weekly budget by 26 to get a rough estimate.

Do any of you turn budgets OFF? What impact does that make? Can any team sign any player?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

I turned them off last year and again this year. For the most part, CPU teams still stay within their budget.
