Cutoff man

Anyone else having a hard time cutting off balls thrown into the infield? This wasn't an issue in the 2019 version and I know it is not my controller as I can use L1 button in the settings and main screen.

Are you pressing L1 before or after pressing the button for the base?

Usually after. But isn't that how it was in the previous games?

I think you could, but pressing it before will 100% throw to the cutoff.

Yes but there is a small window to instruct the cutoff man to cutoff the throw.

To avoid this problem, when I want to try to throw home from the deep outfield, I just press triangle to throw to the man closest to second, with the intent for him to then throw home. It works fairly well.
