commentary in MLB Show always wrong??

I've noticed either Mark DeRosa or Dan Plesac (not sure who) has been maybe 90% wrong whenever they predict what pitch to look for as a batter.

"This guy's definitely throwing a FB down and away"
"This is definitely some offspeed coming his way"
"His best pitch is a slider, so definitely look for him to finish him off that way"

Do they do this to throw us off?

    Does anyone else notice this?

I notice this. I don’t know if they do it to throw us off but it sure does throw me off.

The one that gets me every time is when Derosa says “he just threw 3 straight fastballs, no way does he throw him a fourth one”.

I take his advice, sit offspeed and bam fastball blows past me.

Same here. If its intentional, then it weakens the credibility of the announcing team. Commentary is just dreadful. Less is more would help so much. Give me a bare bones PbP without the horrendous, repetitive and overblown color analysis and I'd be happy

I am probably in the minority, but find the voice of Matt V comforting. The other two seem like they were given what seems like about 20 lines that they cycle through, very seldom matching what's going on. Loved the ability to turn off the individual commentator, wish that was still an option.

Agreed. If I could leave matt on and turn off the others I would.

I've gotten to the point where it's just background noise. I honestly think they talk too much. The best baseball tv announcers supplement the action without telling you every single thing that's happening. You can see most of it for yourself.

Both color guys are awful wish I can mute them.

I'm pretty sure it was Pleasac who broke me with his "that pitch was right there, what's he waiting for?!" On a pitch that would have been a ball if I had perfect calls on.

If I recall correctly, I turned off commentary then and there, and haven't looked back since.

It was weird at first, but now when I see gameplay with the commentary on it seems even weirder to me. I'm way more immersed in the experience with it off and just making up commentary in my head.

I hit a double with trout who was 3-4 for the game with two home runs, and matty V made a comment somewhere along the lines of “he’s not a player that usually hits for a high average”.... yeah okay Matthew

I do this too, makes the game sounds way more enjoyable too. I just hate when it cuts to Heidi and it's silent, really wish you could turn her scenes off.

Me too - I just turned commentary off completely. I usually do for NHL and Madden as well, I like the stadium sounds better.
