Frame Rate Issue Resolved?

Frame Rates the past few editions of The Show have been pretty rough for me. I have the original PS4 back from its launch days. And yes, before anyone asks, I've cleaned it regularly lol.

So this year I think I'm getting around 25-30 FPS per game... But I have some frame drops after Hard Contact and Cutscenes.

I'm playing as the Braves and I'm a few weeks ahead of the ASG. I decided i would turn a series against the Marlins into a sort of foreign/international series. I selected the Blue River MILB Stadium and since there are WAY less fans in the stands I'm getting what feels/looks like close to 60 FPS game play. Every now and then it will drop frames, but for the most part it plays very smooth.

I think the Frame Rate issues are coming from rendering the crowd. It would be awesome if there was a way to remove the crowd/turn their rendering down. I play while watching videos so I usually don't notice the crowd anyway.

I thought this was a pretty cool finding.

I would be super happy if we got an option to turn certain "extras" off and it would help the game run smoother!

I think it’s the lighting that affects it the most.....dusk start times are worse than day games or once the sun goes down it seems to improve

Same here. Go try out a game at that stadium and you’ll instantly notice a huge difference.

Yeah, load up Custom Practice and it's smooth as butter with an empty stadium.

If you are a frame rate junkie, I assume you have a PS4 Pro and are using Faster mode, but Have you tried forcing your PS4 to output at 1080p in the system settings? It definitely helps.

If you are a frame rate junkie, I assume you have a PS4 Pro and are using Faster mode, but Have you tried forcing your PS4 to output at 1080p in the system settings? It definitely helps.

I'm on the original PS4. No pro. I play every game on PC.... MLBTS is the only reason I'm still holding onto a PS4

ive always heard the OG ps4 doesnt have the fps issues......thats strange you are seeing that but u are a pc gamer so its gonna be way more obvious to u

I have a ps4 pro and a Samsung 4k TV, MLB the show is the only game I can't play in 4k.Even faster has framer ate issues and I even rebuilt the database. Still love the game though.

I have an original PS4 and a Pro. I don't see a difference on either. They both chug. Doesn't matter the settings.

Some of it is caused by the internet connection.

Some of it is caused by bad programming.....music stutters....

In the end they need to back off on what ever they need to to make the game run smooth, and then only add what they can to not destroy it. I would rather have a game that plays perfectly and is easier on the eyes than "natural" lighting and a pretzel in the hands of a fan.

I don't have any frame rate issues (PS Pro if that matters) although the fact that I'm old and may not notice could be a factor. I will say though that I am never connected to the internet with the exception of patch downloads.

Also FWIW, my TV is optimized for my Xbox One X and the PS4 games look fine.

Internet connection should not effect offline franchise.

I haven't been playing offline much yet. Mostly DD against the computer. If you were to see what I see you couldn't ignore it!

I am still waiting to completely break and then disconnect and play RTTS. The little I have played RTTS I see the same issues at times. Just not quite as much.

Internet connection should not effect offline franchise.

I agree it shouldn't. Many swear it does though. Say the game plays the best if you disconnect from the internet.

Add me to the list of players that shuts the internet connection off for offline franchise games. I've consistently had better frame rates when doing so since MLBTS18.
