    Bunt attribute

Why do guys like Miguel Cabrera or Aaron Judge even have a bunt attribute ? I was looking at Cabrera last night in my Franchise and he had a bunt attribute of like 49. Cabrera probably has not laid down a bunt since 1997. Just curious how that attribute is generated. What is it based on ?

To me guys like Cabrera and Judge should be 0 and 0 for drag bunting. They never do it.

So, is your thought that because they don't regularly do it, that they definitely don't have the skills to do it? Because something tells me that if either of those two wanted to lay down a bunt to move a runner up, there's a good chance that they'd be able to.

I am not so sure about that. Bunting is a lost art form. Alot of these guys with all the advanced stats probably have never even laid down a bunt.

I am just putting the question out there on why they are even rated for that attribute. Cabrera's bunt rating is higher than a guy like Brett Gardner who I have seen bunt many times.

I'm sure you have played many tight games where a guy like Cabrera or Pujols (or any slugger type who would never bunt) pull off a suicide squeeze bunt late in game to either tie or win a game against you.

Just curious on how they even come up with those ratings.

I don't how's it generated, but I did find a video of him bunting during a spring training batting practice
        In 2014.
