    Pitching to easy

I am an Avid The Show player, love baseball and the game..I have played thousands of games, the issue I have now is, pitching has not changed at all in years, so it is just too easy, I have tried every interface, I have it on Legend..it is just to easy to get the AI out, I lead the league in ERA and RA every year, regardless of quailty of staff. So Franchise starts to get boring because I get so far ahead in my division there is little challenge. Is there a way to make pitching more realistic? Or maybe it is just a product of playing so much MLB The show, and like any game eventually you will hit that point?

      Let me check

EDIT: They are all in the middle, I never thought of adjusting them up a bit...brain fart. Thanks.

No problem. Pitching is definitely easier than hitting (at least in our shared opinion), so sliders is the best way to challenge yourself.

          Re: Pitching to easy

Try pitching at Coors Field...definitely not easy

I've also found that if you surpass the ideal amount of wobbly pops or left handed cigarettes on any given evening, it's extremely hard to pitch...

But in all seriousness, there are a lot of great slider sets that will help tune up realism in this game. Try a few out different ones and you'll see a major difference. I use Armour and Swords sets, veteran hitting and HOF pitching, and the numbers I see from my team seem a lot closer to MLB averages.

            Re: Pitching to easy

I pitch on legend as well and found it too easy. So I turned up CPU contact to 6, which in my opinion gives you immediate results in getting the AI to produce runs.

My slider set for CPU hitting looks like this.

            Contact: 6
            Power: 4
            Timing: 4
            Foul Frequency: 2
Solid Hits: 5 or 6 (if you are seeing too many 100+mph exit velocities and XBH keep it on 5)
Fielder speed: 4 (allows gappers and down the line hits to be XBH)

            Fielder Reaction: 5

if I'm comparing pitching to hitting, then for me personally, I tend to have an easier time pitching and not so much when batting. and that's the way I prefer it anyway. but I wouldn't say it's too easy. more like the right amounts of easy lol

                Re: Pitching to easy

I seem to be a good pitcher on Legend until I start to score runs, then the cpu can hit anything including balls a foot outside.

For you guys pitching on Legend, can you share some of your philosophy?

BTW I use Meter Pitching, and also, since I've only recently got the game, I've only been playing offline Conquest. Could that be the difference (seeing how anything DD related could be rigged)?

If you're only giving up runs when you score runs, that's called.....

                  Forget it.

I was always dreadful at hitting, I’d lower pitch speed to one and still swing at balls that would hit me if I was in the other batter’s box, but I was great at pitching so I’d get lots of 1-0 and 2-1 games and it was lots of fun. Somehow I’ve caught on to hitting so I cranked up the pitching difficulty and I’m having daily slugfests, last night I won an 11-9 game, it’s a really nice change from what I’m used to.
