    The One That Got Away

I figured this would be a fun topic, or not so fun for some (lol). Who have you guys traded away in your respwctive franchises, that you later came to regret trading away. Rather it be that player developed into a stud a couple years down the line, or absolutely dominated for the team you traded him to. It can be in any version of The Show.

For me it has to be catching prospect Cal Raleigh of the Mariners. I traded him in year 2, when I was on the brink of contention to the D-Backs in a package that netted me Zac Gallen. Hard to criticize the results, Gallen won the Cy Young in 2022, and 2023, and I won the World Series in 22, and 23, mainly on the backs of Julio Rodriguez and Noelvi Marte who both developed into monsters. As did Gilbert, and Kerby, leaving me with a dominant pitching staff and a great young lineup.

However, Raleigh has become one of the best hitting catchers in the game. In his rookie season he played 90 games, hitting 14 HR, 42 RBI, and slashing .248/.311/.456, so far in his 2nd year at the big league level, through 73 games he has hit 17 HR, 38 RBI while slashing .261/.320/.471. He is also now an A Potential, 85 OVR.

Since that trade I've kind of been hoarding prospects lol, so who are some of the players you guys regret letting go?

Yeah he developed into a monster, even BEFORE I traded for him at the deadline in year 2. He led the league in strikeouts with a sub 3 ERA before the trade. I also only play like 40-60 games per season while simming the rest, and I use quick counts most of the time. The D-Backs were also like 25 games under .500 so they were in rebuild mode. Gallen almost won 3 straight Cy Youngs, but he finished 2nd the year I traded for him to Blake Snell.

I never got Shelby Miller for Jason Heyward in my carry-over file I started in 14. Heyward been solid for me but I've watched Shelby create the first half of what probably will be a HoF career in St. Louis my youniverse.
