    Relocation

My question is if you go to do a franchise relocation in say after 1 season do you have the option of starting off free with no players and signing players for your minor team drafting and such? Just because I want to move a team or even create a expansion team for Montreal and rebuild the team from scratch and not use current MLB roster

I did an "expansion draft" with the Marlins (Moved them to Montreal). Maybe this isn't exactly what you're asking, but this is how I did it:

If you're relocating, you have to do it before you start your franchise (I think you may be able to adjust details in the next off season, but I haven't made it that far so I could be full of balogna. My understanding is that you can't relocate a team after you've begun your franchise.

For my expansion, I used MLBTR's expansion draft list of unprotected players from their recent expansion series. I selected one from each team (Just used an excel sheet to figure out my picks), then did a draft of the Marlins top 28 eligible players (No Houston) based on the actual draft order for this season (Ie. 1 OA=Detroit, 2 OA=Baltimore, etc.). Same deal with the Excel sheet, then just flipped the the players I had selected for the players that were selected from my team. I did all of this before I started my franchise so that it wouldn't affect any teams budgets in-season.

Obviously this wasn't a legit way to do it, but I figured it was the closest I could get to re-starting an organization without making a bunch of unrealistic trades in season.

The mock expansion draft at MLBTR was a blast!  Connor Byrne ran the Las Vegas Vipers, pitted against my Portland …

It was pretty fun. I jumped the gun by a day or two (They had 25 teams released, and the voting was still open on the other 5), so after I started, I had to move a couple of guys back, but it's still pretty decent.

You're not going to make a team of world beaters, but I've got a bit of power with Bobby Bradley and Edwin Rios, some veteran leadership with the ability to make contact in Ender Inciarte (Hoping for a bounce back), and made the tough decision to take Aaron Hicks and that contract over Jonathan Loasinga.
