Carry-Over Saves and Their Effect on Development

This is a thought I had the other day. Is it possible that carry-over saves adversely effect the potential development of new features when it comes to franchise and RTTS? My thought process on this is that in order for carryovers to work each game has to be compatible with the previous. For instance, if the devs were to get crazy and add a slew of new features to those modes, would the previous saves, that lacked those features still be compatible?

I think the devs should scrap carry-over saves If it does adversely effect development of new features ranging from minor ones such as more complex player cards, to the major such as a fully fleshed owner mode and stadium creator feature. I for one, would prefer them add more to franchise/RTTS and make those modes for engaging and immersive than keep an arbitrary feature that adversely effects future development.

Once more, have the developers either confirmed or denied if carry-over saves effect development? Or can one possible chime in on this?

Carryover saves is something they have to keep in mind, but it hasn't prevented them from adding in new features to franchise mode.

They added real contract values and they worked with carryover saves as contracts were re-calculated when the current in progress season was finished and a new one started.

They added in franchise relocation/rebranding and it works with carryover saves.

So while they have to consider carryover saves when introducing new features, it hasn't, and in speaking with a dev, doesn't appear to prevent them from adding new features they have in their plans.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
