Will the ps5 play mlb the show 20 better than ps4 pro?

I just wonder if we can play the game on balanced without frame rate drop. Don't get me wrong the pro handles the game pretty good.

It would be really awesome to play in 4k, but I know that want probably happen until '21.

Yes it should.

Based on the specs it is obviously stronger then the PS4 pro.

I see no reason why it would not be.

As awesome as the graphics look on the PS5, the quality of sound really blows me away. I can’t wait to hear the crowd and stadium music on the PS5

Yes it should.

I see no reason why it would not be.

Backward compatibility is often achieved through emulation which is quite processing intensive. So while the PS5 specs are much better than PS4 Pro, if it has to simulate being a PS4 to run the game, that might cause a heavy load on the hardware and result in less performance than running the game on an actual PS4.

We'll just have to wait and see.

That was true for the PS3 to PS4 due to the type of processor architecture, but because ps5 is using VERY similar hardware to the ps4, emulation will be much more straightforward and easier to produce. Optimization of games will be noticeable without much needed to be done.

This may seem like an off the wall question, but what do you guys think will become of carry-over franchises? I've been playing the same franchise since the feature was added (I think it was MLB 16). I wonder if it will be transferable to a new console. I don't want to give it up, I'm really enjoying the "universe" that is going on in my franchise.

Do you guys actually have a lot of frame rate drops on the PS4? That used to be a problem that would kill me on the PS3, but I have a regular PS4 and can't remember the last time that I had a problem. I always see the pitch from the moment it leaves the pitcher's hand until it gets to the plate.

I do and I play on a Pro. It’s not necessarily the pitcher/batter sequence, it’s sometime when the ball is in play or cutscenes

if it doesn't, Sony didn't do something right. it doesn't even have to be a HUGE leap, but it does have to make at minimum baby steps. otherwise they should have saved their money and rebooted the PS3, or introduced the PS4 All-Pro

I very much doubt the game will run via emulation. The CPU architecture and OS are very similar between the two systems. I'd be shocked if MLB 20 didn't run naturally on the PS5.

The PS3 had a proprietary chip (the cell processor) that to this day is still very unique. It also had a scratch made OS.

The PS4 used an AMD processor (Jaguar) and a Linux-based OS.

The PS5 has an AMD processor (Zen 2) and a Linux-based OS.

PS3, PS2, and PS1 backwards compatibility is unfortunately still only a rumor but if it does happen it will be via emulation, but PS4 backwards compatibility should be easy peasy.

This console generation for both Sony and Microsoft is more like getting a new PC to upgrade your old one than getting a whole new machine. This should in theory be the smoothest transition from one console generation to the next.

I suspect most launch titles will come out on the PS4 as well, and the PS5 will act as a sort of PS4 Pro Plus. Only games that utilize Sony's new hard drive tech are going to be exclusive, and considering Sony has stated that more than half of the games currently in development under their studios will eventually come to PC, I suspect that means they don't need the PS5's unique hard drive to work.

I think it will take SDS a few years to get The Show to be better on the PS5. I can remember Ramone saying it would take a few years before it would be where they wanted it on the PS4. I envision something similar when it jumps to PS5 and XSeX.
