Going for 62 home runs in a player lock franchise. Any advice?

Hey all, I am currently in a 2021 custom franchise (with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox) and I am going to try to break Roger Maris' home run record by doing a player lock season as Giancarlo Stanton. I've got him at DH, hitting cleanup, with Anthony Rendon hitting in front of him and Mike Yastrzemski hitting behind him. (Yaz was an all star and hit 38 home runs with 100 RBIs last season). I play on Hall of Fame difficulty but I've never really been a great hitter. Anyone have any advice? Should I be power swinging or just use the regular swing? What pace should I shoot for?

If you use directional hitting I say you put tha left stick up every at bat

I’ve only hit 60 hr once (Joey Gallo in 2018). It’s really tough if you are playing on a higher difficulty. I would just suggest taking lots of pitches. You’ll strike out, especially with Stanton, but you’ll get more meat balls this way.

I personally don’t use power swing. I could see the appeal when using zone hitting but I tend to use analog.

Be patient every at bat. Work the pitchers pitch count. See if you can get some hangers. Also I would just use a regular swing. It works just as good as a power swing and the hitting window is bigger.

My advice is to go for the real record of 73

rightly or wrongly the first thing I think when somebody hits 75 homers in the Show is what level are they on and how many players on their team hit 40+ HR's. the skeptic in me thinks they'll have at least 2 other players with at least 40 dingers.

rightly or wrongly of me to think that lol

                I play on Legend difficulty.

103 game in, I have one guy sitting at 42 HR.

                3 others closing in on 30 (29, 28, and 24)

The guy who has 24 has hit them in just 63 games (about 230 plate appearances)

I play on Legend too, playing all 162, at the all star break and Conforto has 46 and Alonso has 42.

I've had to lower the Power Slider a couple of notches because I need it to be realistic. Maybe next year i'll let both of them go off lol

When I got Mike Trout to be the first member of the 90/90 club, I did have 2 other players hit 40+ for 3rd and 4th in baseball. Those two other players were Bryce Harper and Eric Hosmer (I really did abuse the trade system in 2014).

The point I'm trying to make here is that if you're going to break records there comes a point where hitting consistency is more important than power.

                    TL;DR play as Mike Trout.

It was kind of, totally, completely insane. I wasn't even pushing for it until the last few days. I kept thinking "he's got to slow down soon".

I felt less like it was something I accomplished and more like I was along for the ride.

I played season on legend zone with hum contact and power sliders down. Hit 67 with Torres and 4 others with 40. Hit 330 home runs as a team.

                            Too many hr. In game.
