Re: Altering Franchise Mode : Microtransactions

It's proven DD is played FAR more than franchise so more resources are dedicated to where users are playing most.

    THAT SAID...

I think it's a field of dreams thing with franchise. If you build it, they will come. If you make it like OSers have been clamoring for, there will be an immense popularity with the mode. Scouting, drafting, minor league development, impactful coaching, player/manager tendencies, injury vs fatigue attributes, etc.

Roster share was first brought into play by SCEA. Think what they could do to usher in a new generation of franchise enthusiasts.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

if they do that I am done and not buying the game ever again. I don't fall for those money grabbing schemes. knowing a bit about economics and the way the human mind works it amazes me how people throw money down the drain with that crap.

I want to buy a game one off and enjoy it and play it. and support the devs for that one game with my purchase. trying to psychologically get into peoples heads and saying 'give me money or spend hours doing the same thing over and over again' doesn't cut it for me or 'give my $2 for this alt jersey'

That’s good to know - thanks for the heads up. I remember it being the first 2K I bought on ps4 so that makes sense.

I don't see this the same as a loot box though.

Hypothetically; they offer me the Kingdome for $2.99... or full retro stadium package for $15.99.. or some obscure retro jersey I'm looking for.. I'll pay. Its the only way to get something I want.

That's not the same as looking for a specific card or player, and essentially gambling that I'll get it at $5.99/pack.

... and again, that just convers content. An add-on, like a robust roster editor, I would pay hundreds of dollars. No hesitation. It would infinitely improve the entire experience.

2K isn't charging for retro items. If SCEA does, the outrage would be enormous.

I don't mind being the minority on this one.

If the only I way I can crank Junior home runs over the right field Kingdome wall is to pay a little extra.. I'd do it.

Would I prefer it to be free, or free downloadable content, of course!.. but the above IS 100% THE experience I am looking for out of this game. Priceless, IMO.

I sure hope not. It would ruin the Franchise experience. Plus, as Country Boy said, it's an outdated code or whatever. Keep microtransactions out of Franchise
