    They haven't even announced that it might even happen.

    All we know is that they will be allowed to make the game for the Switch and XBox beginning in 2021 (not that they WILL, just that they could).

    If I had to guess, the rig you're building now will be outdated if/when it comes to PC.

        I think we're close.

        Makes sense, considering that is the platform everything is built on.

        This is one of the few things I've read about it;

          I'd love to be wrong FWIW; but I wouldn't get my hopes up until we something like Sony collaborating with Steam or another distributor like that.

            It's true that RDNA2 isn't out yet (which is the graphics card being put in the PS5 and Xbox whatever) but both consoles are using a modified Zen 2700 as a processor, which is a chip that's already a generation old (and maybe two when the new consoles launch).

            It is very possible to hit at or above the performance of the PS5 with hardware you can buy today, with the exception of the proprietary hard drive they are building for the system (which is actually very exciting, you should check it out).

            Since MLB the Show is going multi-platform, it's easy to assume that the Sony hard drive tech will not be required for the game to run well.

            However, all that being said, I would still advise the OP to wait for 3 reasons:

            1. AMD and Nvidia are both close to launching a new generation of hardware, likely in the September to black Friday range.

            2. Hardware requirements for games are about to go through a massive shift, and while I can hazard a few guesses, it's impossible to know what kind of performance will be most important.

            example: today, core clock speeds are the most important when it comes to PC gaming due to the fact that most games are console ports and consoles are limited to 4 cores. Even when on PC, most games still only utilize 4 cores. Next gen consoles will have 8 cores. This will shift some of the burden of performance away from core clock speeds and onto core count.

            3. There was no word whatsoever that the Show is coming to PC. When they released the information about going multiplatform, they only talked about the switch and Xbox.

            The closest they've come to saying it's coming to PC was during the recent PlayStation online event they said that more than half of the games in development under their studios will eventually come to PC, but they made no indication which ones.
