Jersey number in Franchise mode

Does anyone know if Jersey numbers are duplicated if two players on the same team has the same “preferred jersey number”?

It will switch the number. I have no idea what the logic is because Christian Yelich has a new number every week in my franchise and I don’t touch his preferred number.

So I’m guessing the newest member of the team will retain the preferred number?

I honestly have no clue. Sorry to not be of any help but this issue still happens for me.

Your highest rated player will get the number, regardless if he is new on the team. Also, the system will bypass every team’s retired numbers. And of course, number 42.

If you for example have Mike Trout on your team and you get any other player on the roster that has #27, the system will automatically switch that players number to the next available number on the team (will not take into account managers and couches, this part sucks) so you will have to edit the new player’s jersey number manually if you don’t like the one he got.
