First batter hits first pitch for HR. Next batter hits a low soft line drive to 2b, but the secondbaseman decided he's not going to try to field it and runs to 2b for some unknown reason. Next batter hits a routine double play ball to second. 2b fields it cleanly and tosses it underhand to the SS who decides, for some unknown reason, not to even try to catch the ball and just watches as it goes right by him. Next three batters get hits. 4 run inning.

I had one last night. Syndergaard walks the first batter, gives up a single to the next and the next guy blasts him in the face with a line drive and he leaves the game. Ended up being a four run inningComment

... either a pitcher gets a hit on a hard hit ball, an infielder botches a routine grounder or (Although at this point it becomes a "bad game") when you allow back-to-back HRs, doubly so if one (or both) hitter is a low power, singles hitter.You know its going to be a bad inning when....Comment

It’s going to be bad when... the previous inning you left the bases loaded. Now, on defense, winning by 2, in the sixth, you start the inning by walking the first batter. You bring your bullpen guy and he gets greeted with a base hit.Comment

recently I threw 20+ pitches in 1 inning with Alex Cobb but didn't give up a baserunner, 3 up 3 down, and a few foul balls mixed in. but that was an omen of things to come, he got shelled in the next inning, I had to take him out after allowing 3 straight homers on 3 pitches. you want to say quality over quantity but after awhile the quantity will affect the qualityOriginally posted by StateoftheFranchiseOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

I had a "next inning" clue recently when my pitcher got the first 2 batters out on 3 pitches, but the other pitcher came to the plate with 0 contact, 0 vision and 0 discipline but it ended off being a 14 pitch AB before we finally got the guy out.
