Is the implication being made here that there is rubberband and or scripted AI? Because in my opinion that’s the worst allegation you can make against a sports video game.

either that or to allege the makers are either lazy and/or dont care.

...Garret Anderson gets a 2-out double.

Some 4 or 5 batters later, Hank Aaron hits a bases clearing double!

It's been rough recently but thats baseball

That's not what I was implying. Trust me, if I thought that was the case I would have said so.

If it's the worse allegation then some developers should stop creating the problem. Besides, there has to be a "worst" anything when there are ideas or complaints. But to me it is far from the worst thing that a game developer can be accused of.

If that allegation is made against a game it doesn't mean it isn't true. What developer would admit to having to resort to programmed cheating? There are some games where the same things happen so often in certain situations it's pretty obvious.

As an example of predetermined results, NBA2k MyCareer has always had scripted outcomes so that certain cut scenes could be played out. I don't know about this year because I didn't buy it. There were times in the past I couldn't figure out why this or that was happening during a game, but at the end of the game the cutscene came on and that explained it. Another NBA2k example was when you were playing against a rival player in MyCareer, especially when there was a pregame "bet" between you and the rival. If you played real well, your rival played a bit better. If you played poorly, your rival played poorly but just a hair better than you. You had very little control over what resulted in the things you were trying to do during the game. I despised that stuff since I wanted to play the game and let my own skills, or lack thereof, determine things. Even though it was obvious to all MyCareer players, do you think the developers admitted to it?

          --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is one play though that I do think is predetermined and that's when batters strikeout by swinging at a pitch AFTER it bounces off the plate and is already in the catcher's mitt. That seems to me to be a predetermined strikeout. The only time they do it is for the third strike. The animation on that is really weird.

When the leadoff batter hits a weak grounder to the pitcher, and gets an infield single. Followed by a sharp grounder to second that gets dropped...pop fly double between the SS, LF, and CF....

When it’s the 6th inning. You’ve got a 2 run lead. Your pitcher gives up a couple bloop hits. He’s at 85 pitches, stamina almost gone, confidence down, and you say to yourself......”just one more batter”. (Been there....love it)

You are not alone. Sometimes my pitcher misses the guy and I get more upset. It's like... "NO! We are taking out some frustration somebody has to pay, HIT HIM!"

I'm not much of a future-seer but I do know it's been a bad inning when it's the first inning and the opposing pitcher has already been on base.

                        Just. One. More. Batter.

                        Followed by a bomb.

                        Every. Friggin'. Time.

I had Marco Gonzales starting for me last night against the Yankees (against Cole, so I knew I needed to take every opportunity to put up offence). Of course, they ran out a 100% righty lineup. 0-0 in the 6th, and had made it through 5.1 IP, gave up a few hits throughout, lots of weak contact though so I was rolling. Walked Aaron Judge, with Stanton coming up. He'd been 2-2 to that point with a massive double, but I figured "Nah, with how well Marco has been tossing, and the law of averages, I'll be fine...". 1-2 count, hung a changeup-BOMB. 2-0 Yanks. Get a reliever up, visit the mound knowing it may soon be time, but it's only Gary Sanchez coming up. Lots of power, but 0-2 with 2 K's to that point. Figured I'd bounce back with a get-me-over curveball, and of course, I hung it again.

In case anyone is wondering, I can confirm that hanging anything to 99% of the Yanks hitters is a bad idea.

Certainly not the worst inning, but it's absolute murder when you've gotta face Cole.

Happens to me all the time too! Then I wonder why I get mad when it happens in real life when I can’t even get it right in a damn video game LOL.

I really enjoy to nuances of this game. I know some people get pissed and call things like this a glitch in the game but it really feels like how I feel after watching the Mets blow another game in some weird way.

Hate to quote the Yankees, but that’s baseball Susanne [emoji16]

                              Agreed 100%! I love it.

Watched the Jays/Yanks the other night, when the Yankees were up 6-2, and then baseball happened. Was quite enjoyable TBH. All of the sudden Otto started leaving his pitches middle-middle and couldn't hit the strike zone.

                              That's baseball!

I played 2 games yesterday. I had only 2 hits and gave 11xhits in a 19-0 lost against the Brewers and the Braves torched me with 29 runs and 23 hits.

This game is broken and totally unrealistic !!!
