Turn off Difficulty change

This is for 2019 version

This was something new to me last year but now has me wanting to turn it off. Correct me if I’m wrong but i feel like as I get better at pitching, it makes it harder so I stay at an average skill level

I’d prefer to be a consistent good pitcher and work o not batting skills versus constantly making it harder to bat or pitch

Are you talking about Dynamic Difficulty?Do you mean you want to stay at a certain level?
If so move the DD slider(it's the top slider) all the way to the left-that will lock your skill level in.
If I misread your post then nevermind.

The terminology is lost on me.

What I mean is their annoying meter showing my pitch and bat skill level. I do well, and suddenly it changes to the next level.

I’m a Hall of Fame + pitcher but I can’t keep a team under 4 runs if I’m lucky

I am only batting Rookie + but rarely hitting more than singles

He’s referring to Dynamic Difficulty (DD - also sometimes used to refer to Diamond Dynasty, which might be confusing). It’s a difficulty setting that automatically raises or lowers the difficulty based on your performance, as it seems you are already aware.

You can go to the menu and change the difficulty setting in one of two ways:

1. Just change the difficulty setting from dynamic to something else. Looks like Hall of Fame for pitching and Rookie for batting, based on your post. You can always go down to All Star pitching if it’s still too hard.

2. Keep the difficulty on Dynamic, then go to the sliders and move the Dynamic Difficulty slider down to 1 when you’ve found levels at which you’re comfortable. This changes the speed at which you level up and down, so you won’t immediately go up a level if you get a few good hits in a row.

I've been playing RTTS for years-as pitchers.I certainly would not say I'm talented at all.I find my pitching comfort zone at All Star +.In other words I lock myself in at the hardest All Star level.I find I get rocked pretty good on HOF.
I put my batting at beginner because the pitchers don't have hitting skills and I don't either.Besides it's fun hitting .500!
Hopefully you know where the sliders are.

I would take a look at your sliders. I also would highly suggests Josh C's all star sliders. Or if you want to play on HoF I suggest armors
