    Thinking out loud here

I know many of us are frustrated with baserunning in this game. Specifically the lack of urgency on display by the cpu runners.

Just a thought....what if we edited every player's baserunning aggressiveness? It would be a daunting task, but if it enhances gameplay enough I'd do it. My thoughts were to match there speed attribute to their baserunning aggressiveness attribute. So if player A has 65 speed, I'd edit their baserunning aggressiveness to 65 as well. avg. 45 position players x 30 teams...you'd be looking at roughly 1350 player edits.

I wouldn't worry about the pitchers.

have you tried playing some exhibition games with baserunner speed slider set at 10? wonder how much impact that would have

Based on a suggestion made by another person in this forum I gave every player at least a minimum baserunning aggressiveness value of 25, though some players have higher values. That helped a lot.

That's what I was looking for, someone to verify that increasing the attribute on a per player basis does affect gameplay on the base paths in a positive way

I have not tried that. I just want cpu runners to go 1st to 3rd A TON more, and 2b to home a little more frequently.

Maybe increasing run speed would help, but I also feel like that would have some negative impact too (infield singles).

            Re: Thinking out loud here

So I am one to be hoping for a CPU base running overhaul. But here is a scenario I wanted to throw out there keep in mind my base running sliders are set to 10!

Player Lock Scenario (Watching all CPU at bats):

Home game bottom of the 9th. I am down by a run. Lead off spot gets a walk to 1st base. CPU does not substitute the runner on 1st for a speedy bench runner. So I do it manually before the next pitch. The player I put in has a 90 speed and a 75 aggressiveness. He takes the default lead off base but that is it and never takes off.

At this point I put the controller down because I knew what would happen next. You guessed it CPU hits into a double play. This scenario has played out countless times. Enough for me to see it coming.

So my thought is. I don’t necessarily believe that increasing “Base Running Aggressiveness” will do the trick. I feel the Problem is buried underneath!

            Lets hope for PS5!
