Been running a playoff mode with a few classic roster sets. I've noticed that the cpu substitution logic seems a bit flawed. A few things I have seen:
- cpu pinch hitting a lefty even though a lefty is on mound and RH batters are available
- cpu bringing in a righty to pitch to a lefty (not closer) or vice versa in key situations
- cpu making odd defensive replacements - ie: took out Nettles on Yanks in 7th and inserted Fred Stanley
- cpu pinch running for all star players in 6th or 7th inning. Guys you would never take out of the lineup like Bench, Stargell, etc...
I know their logic is all math based on ratings for particular areas, but they need to tweak this a bit to recognize the overall quality of the player they are replacing vs just his foot speed, or defensive rating. I do understand that some of these things are predicated on how the players are rated in these roster files, but the lefty/righty thing should not be at a minimum.
