I press in L3 to get more control of the PCI then I just wait on my pitch. My thumb is positioned like I'm 70 to 75 degree angle, the head of the thumb mainly. YOU HAVE to let the pitcher throw and make them work. Batting is not quick and it is not easy. Press in L3 at every pitch and flick it with timing of the pitchers throws. I guarantee you that you will crack your bat properly!

Re: Wanna Hit Better?
The PCI is too loosey-goosey so you have to push down on the L3 and hold it like its an actual button. Put that head of your thumb on that L3 and hold it there. Man I'm playing Franchise with my Royals on Dynamic difficulty and I'm at Legend hitting smh (unreal on how good I've became). And then follow that ball when it's in the zone. Most importantly, it ALL ABOUT TIMING. Hit the ball too early, you're screwed, but just sit on the pitch guys. On offense, baseball is all about besting that pitcher.Comment

Re: Wanna Hit Better?
Well my advice is completely different, but worked for me. I don't touch the pci, leave it dead center, try to only swing at pitches right down the middle. Has helped me work more walks too as I chase much less. For reference I always struggled batting until I started this. Now I float from legend to legend+ on dynamic. Only problem is I feel like I hit into a ton of double plays, but that's been my Achilles heel as long as I've played the show.Comment

Re: Wanna Hit Better?
So if you hold in L3 like a button press you can't move the PCI? It just sticks until you release the button?Twitch

Re: Wanna Hit Better?
The PCI still has full movement. You press down on L3 so you can have more control over the PCI movement. Your swing is more of a "flick" with the L3 button pressed down and you press "X" as the pitch comes your way.Comment

then lemme give that wall Patch 1.23: the best offence is a good defence. you win 100% of games the opponent doesn't score. unless Manferd done come up with more wackiness.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Wanna Hit Better?
No, pressing R3 shows defensive alignments. I DO wait until the pitcher starts his throwing motion though. Follow that pitch and time it to make sure you produce positive contact.Comment

Advice from someone who has completed a full season, won the WS, and hit very well.........WORK. THE. COUNT. It's so much easier to hit on 2-0, 3-1 counts.Comment
