    Balk, Balk, Balk!

Does anybody actually play with balks on. I've never seen anyone mention using it. Does it not translate well to a video game. I don't see it often in real life so its one of those things I rarely think about outside of looking through slider sets at the release of a new version.

Yeah, it really doesn't. It's easily avoided by just simply letting the stretch animation play out. It's hard to imagine a situation where the meaningful implementation of balks would be anything other than weighted randomness according to a rating, and we're in a era of sports game development where random occurrences in gameplay are being phased out.

To answer the question, no I don't, and for a very good reason that I will spoiler tag so as not to ruin anyone's experience that wants to use it:

I don't use it because it is only on for the user and not the CPU.

          Re: Balk, Balk, Balk!

I think there is another reason why not to play with it on: I'm not sure MLB themselves fully understand what a balk is.

There are so many instances in MLB where I think "why is this a balk and not this?"

I honestly think it's become more of a tool umps use to punish pitchers they don't like then a real rule at this point. I'm not saying it never gets justified usage just that the rule seems... Extremely loose.

Balk option on the game is and always has been a over sensitive setting that needs to be turned off. It was added for realism and to prevent fast pitching online, but again way over sensitive setting.
