Has anyone noticed??
When you have men on base and you hit a sure gapper the runners don't advance until the ball hits the ground or the wall? This is when auto baserunning is enabled. I think a previous patch broke this, because I do not remember this happening right out of the box.

Re: Has anyone noticed??
This exact thing happened to me last night during a Showdown match in the 6th Inning program. It was a sure fall in the gap, but my runners did pause. I saw that and immediately pushed L1 to advance all runners. The way they paused on the bases made it seem like the ball would be caught, it was weird seeing that.
But I have only saw this once, yesterday.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed??
I see it now and then. I play MoM so it is the AI playing, not me.
Last night Bregman hit a hard line drive in the LCF gap and Springer just stood on 2b until the ball hit the ground and bounced off the wall preventing him from scoring. A couple days ago with the Dodgers and runners on 1b & 2b, batter hits a hard drive to RCF gap. Runners stand there till ball lands. What should have been a 2 run double ended off being a no run single. In both games the inning ended with no runs scoring. It may explain why both my teams have such a hard time scoring a runner from 2b with less than 2 outs unless they hit a HR. I figured it was the game deciding ahead of time that we weren't going to score that inning.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed??
this is why its better to learn to manually control your runners IMO. to each their own of course, but these type of bugs/glitches is why i started to learn to manually control my runners in the first place.Toronto Blue Jays

Re: Has anyone noticed??
Doesn't this have something to do with base running aggressiveness?
Pretty sure you can tweak that with the sliders. Might be worth a look.Comment

Matter if fact, in previous years it was the opposite problem. The auto base runner knew exactly if a blooper was going to fall right off the bat and I always thought that took the suspense out of it because you knew by watching the runner if the bloop was gonna fall.Comment

Yea, I posted about that a few weeks ago. But I noticed it pretty early on and mentioned that in previous years it was never an issue. So I think it was something with this years game

I've posted it in the bugs/glitches thread with photos. I don't know what tips it, but having a runner stand half way between 1st and 2nd on a low, no doubt gapper that short hops off the wall and the runner only makes it to 3rd......is a problem. Tagging up on long fly balls in the gap where the fielder is running way from the runner and no tag up....groan. You are absolutely right. This used to work well, but this year it is messed up. I looked at base runner aggressiveness, changed it on all and it still didn't make a difference, so something else in the AI is FUBAR. It's not constant as some times I will shake my head when it works properly, but man......
I don't know how these things get messed up unless someone there decides to fix something that is not broken and then they unfix it. Don't get me started on taking out the option to use the CPU ROSTER CONTROL screen after the trade deadline. I notified a dev prior to this last patch dropping hoping someone would flip the switch and put the option back in like it's always been. But it wasn't reverted to the way it used to be.
Button mashing is something I'm incapable of, like many gamers, I'm sure. So manual field is simply out of the question. Lord don't let someone decide that AUTO fielding should be removed, but how much more is it going to erode? If it works......don't mess with it.Last edited by KnightTemplar; 09-04-2020, 08:47 AM.Comment

Yup. I have carpal tunnel in both hands and trying to do much with my thumbs feels like a knife going through my hand. There is no way I can even play RTTS because of it and exactly why I play MoM.Comment

Re: Has anyone noticed??
Agreed. They really nerfed auto baserunning recently. The runners were always a dead giveaway on whether a ball was going to be caught or not. Also, if it was homerun you don't need the no doubt camera...just watch the runners start to jog as soon as it is hit.
They need to put more randomness in auto running. I never see a guy tag from second to third on a fly ball that he could have easily made it on. Or go from first to third and challenge the OF very often. Most runners just stop at second on a hit to right. How about a guy leaves early on a flyball and you can appeal? Perfect running, or cautious running, is frustrating and kills immersion. Also affects gameplay as you get cheated out of runs to a certain degree.

Re: Has anyone noticed??
Running has turned to pure ****... thought my game was just ****
But it's happened like 5 games in a row now. Left so many runners out smhh
Now I gotta learn to run manually. So annoyingComment

Manual (or assisted) baserunning is not hard at all once you learn how to use it.Comment
