Re: MLB The Show 20 Patch 1.19 Available - Patch Notes
Please keep in mind that the old days of don't release until product is completely stable are gone.
The development methodology today is iteration...release...fix....release...fix. The waterfall methodology has given way to Agile approach which incorporates this type of thinking.
You'll see this not only with many/all games being released, but also business software. Schedules are not being pushed to the right much anymore unless absolutely necessary. We will continue to see many more "patches" in all software, but especially sports games which appear to be fairly complex in nature.

All the more reason to quit buying new games. Everything goes on sale pretty quickly nowadays. So why pay $60 for a game. Wait 3 months and you will have a patched, hopefully finished and fixed game for half the money. Especially sports games. There is so little change from year to year besides Rosters. It truly seems insane to keep paying full price.
I just make sure I put a dollar and a quarter a week into my Show jar, come March I'm ready to rollOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

I think sport games should go for a subscription model for like $5-$10 a month where they just keep improving/updating the game every month or so.
Sport dev cycles are just too short to make radical changes/improvements while people do expect it every year and get disappointed. Especially since SDS isn’t really big compared to the amount of people that work on NBA 2K, Madden or FIFA."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Well, I guess they should charge for betas then. I know my days of paying full price for games is over.Comment

Sadly the best time to buy sports games now is about 3 to 4 months before the next years version comes out. That’s the only way you’re going to get the completed version of the game.Comment
